Hi Everyone!
I was wondering if anyone here has shot or
owns a Rock Island 1911 45 ACP pistol. I just
purchased one and finally got out today to shoot it,
This is one accurate 45, Shot at sillouhette targets at
25 yds hit and knocked down 1st 9 out of 10.
Shot at paper bullseye targets at 25 yds will group
2" or better with my target loads. No FTF and
eats everthing JHP, JFP, and FMJ round ball ammo.
This one is the Tactical model and for just a little over
500 including tax it is one great Buy.
Has anyone else tried these guns?http://i766.photobucket.com/albums/xx303/Brendaandroy/100_2974.jpg

Happy New Year! 6.5 :D

They are parkerized so it's not going to win a beauty contest and those are not the stock grips of course,
but it shoots very well and I am thinking of getting another one in Satin Nickel! :)

Wrenchman,
I have heard that some have had problems with the gun
feeding lead SWC bullets and had to alter the ramp some,
but my gun seems to like anything you feed it. It really is
not a bare bones 1911, they have a match grade barrel and bushing,
skeletonized hammer and trigger the trigger pull is set at 4lbs or maybe
a bit less with no creep. The trigger is absolutely perfect on mine,
very crisp and light with no creep. For the money it is hard to beat.
Regards 6.5 ;)

I use their lower with a Ciener Platinum 22 rf. upper. Had to do some trigger work, but it's the most accurate .22 pistol I ever owned. Lotsa of high spped rounds through it and functions great.

Put a set of Checkered Kingwood grips on my Rock Island Tactical,
I like the Classic Look of them.
