They're prominantly featured in the MIDWAY USA catalog and Midway is not usually known for advertising and/or stocking junk. Beyond that, like you, I've never heard of or seen them advertised any place else either.

Picked one up at the 'Gun Show' at the Fairgrounds in OKC just to look at, it was unimpressive from start to finish.

It is stamped "Made in China" and reminded me of each and every Tasco I have touched (yeah, and purchased). It was a lot like the BSA sitting next to it.

A German fella, who worked in one of my favorite hunting shops in Nurnberg, once told me always look through the front of optics you buy. You can see some of the inner workings. In the Barska, I could see where the lens was gobbed in with very thick glue, or maybe silicon. There were burrs and very obvioous machining imperfections in the tube also.

To be honest, I had (and still have) no interest in this scope at all. It reeks of POS!

If my memory serves me right I believe they are one of the under $100 scopes. Draw you conclusion from that.

The way you spell Barska is JUNQUE! Like the BSAs... probably ok on a light recoiler
