After almost 6 years of lookin for a decent S&W M-57 in 41 Mag..I finally found one...er...two.... in 10 days. I bought a 657 in 3 inch last week on Thursday and yesterday I found a REAL 57 6 inch gun at the gun show I did. It was a pretty poor show overall as far as selling. I didn't expect a real great selling experience and got about what I expected. But I don't always go to just sell stuff. I go as much for the gettin together with like minded people and to see acquaintances. It's kinda like a get together.. I think I made a few really good buys. I got the 6 inch 57(Nickle)..and a Colt 22 Single Action revolver with the extra cylinder with great color case on it.. and the best I think was a really nice Remington 722 in 257 Roberts but it is a BDL grade. Only one of about 7 B grade 721-722 guns I have ever seen. It is really nice too. And as usual I found lots of littles at the show....LOTS of littles. Now I have to figure which one of the 41 mags I'm gonna keep. I even found a bunch of primers at the show..reasonably priced...at least in todays market..Under 30 bucks for Rem 7 1/2 match primers... Luckily I didn't need any more of any of 'em. I have bought a couple more Dunbar H presses lately and I found 3 of the RCBS universal shellholder adapters for 'em for 5 bucks each. Only need one more. I set those presses up in the rifle caliber I want to load and leave 'em set that way.. Suckers are really heavy and they work fine for most of my rifle loading. And they don't hang over the front of the bench..Try to get some pics posted of the rifle and Colt.. Maybe one of the presses too.

Them gun shows are kinda expensive. The picture I am going to try to load is some of the handguns I have bought lately..One or two have to go of course..Most of these were gun show or auction acquisitions. I hope you find somethig you like at the show..Prices are a bit high at shows but able to be talked down a bit..on Sat evening or Sunday. Hope the picture isn't too dark.. In the picture is a 6 inch M-57 41 mag as well as the 3 inch 657 41..the Colt New Frontier 22 has the extra cylinder..A S&W 639 9mm(gotta go)...the 696 L frame 44 special with 3 inch bbl. and a Charles Daly 1911 45 auto that really does shoot pretty well. I have been carrying it on ocassion the 3 inch 41 Mag is gonna go too. and I may sell the Colt as I have a Ruger already.. Some of these I took as partial trades There is a RCBS cardboard die box in the upper part of the picture. The dies are still wrapped and taped from the factory. They have to date from no later than 1963. Just kinda neat..and they cost the grand total of 10 bucks..actually less cause I also got a set of 45-70s new in the box..It is truly amazing what you can come up with at a gun show..I even got another Dunbar press for 30 bucks. no shellholders..but I bought 3 RCBS univeral adapters for 5 bucks each.. Oh and the Ruger SBH grip frame is a steel frame I bought from a guy for 5 bucks. A left hander used it as that is where all the blue wear is. Gonna rust blue it and put it on mommas old Model SBH. Not pictured as it was a shotgun 2 days after the show a lady brought me a Winchester M-12 16 ga field gun..Didn't really want it but bought it cause she needed the money. I'll get my money out of it..but have no use for a 16. She also has a Winchester 1886 rifle in 33 Winchester she wants to sell. It was her fathers. Love to have it..but will probably just sell it for her..

Ya know Rich...I've never seen one of those brass ones for sale. If I ever do..I'll pick her up for ya. Only reason I bought the steel one was cause it was 5 bucks and is heavier than the aluminum one....an I can't resist a bargain..:D. An sometimes what looks like a bargain....ain't! Rust bluing is a lot of work:rolleyes:

If it were my treasure trove I'd hold on to the S&W model 639. I've never been a huge S&W fan but I've always liked that particular gun. I'd sell off the big bore snubbies. You definitely got a nice haul though.

Hehe, yeah it is, if I don't find me one of the brass ones before too many more years I think I will have to break down and just buy a standard steel one for the weight. At 5 bucks I woulda grabbed it too. Those old RCBS dies are a treasure, we just don't see the neat old boxes like that around here anymore.
