I've always heard that one should shy away from brass framed cap & ball revolvers, because over time they will "shoot loose", and that those who wish to shoot their firearms should stick with steel frame revolvers.

Is it possible to "tighten up" a brass frame revolver after it does "shoot loose", or are you stuck with a wall hanger?

Also, if it is possible to tighten up a revolver, how much would something like this cost?

Thanks in advance.............

Mr. 16 gauge,

Very good question. I believe the "loose" situation is a stretching of the brass frame out-of-square so to speak and the distance from hammer fall to cap gets longer and lkess reliable in firing. If the brass frame "gives" with continued firing, moving it back to "square" configuration may not be permanent.
