I just read some stuff in the New York Times (WHO ELSE?) about how unconstitutional it is.

They said it gives local law enforcement 'too much authority to single out individuals'. Ah isn't that how a DWI/DUI starts?

Well the excrement in the White House has already got federal lawyers looking into it and frankly, I would not be surprised if some liberal federal judge either puts an in juction to keep it from going into effect or outright strikes it down as unconstitutional. :mad: But then again, he and the Congress no longer care what WE THE PEOPLE think. :mad::mad::mad::mad:
Technically, the Constitution only allow the feds to regulate immigration. I'm OK with that. If I understand the law correctly, it only allows LEOs to question a person about whether they're here illegally or not and detain them for ICE to do whatever they feel should be done.
It sure has raised a bit of a ruckus around here. Someone has issued a death threat against Congressman Raul Grijalva :eek: who favors open borders with mexico and immediate citizenship for the 12 to 20 million illegals here in the country today. To add insult to injury, he's anti-gun, anti-hunting. a green weeny, and IMHO a commie. :mad: I believe what would make him the happiest guy around would be to give California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas back to Mexico. He's up for re-election in November and right now, for the first time since I moved to AZ, there might be a chance to kick his sorry ass out of the House.;):D:cool: One can only hope. He does nothing of AZ other than to further latino causes and he has the majority vote as the Latinos outnumber the rest of us. :(

PJG, that last sentence in your post is what I would be worried about..I can remember years ago my dad telling me about others that were breeding like rats and one day will have the upper hand at things only because of their 'numbers'....no matter how stupid they might be. My gun rights are attacked every day because these same rats shoot each other in the middle of the night in front of a bar doing their drug exchange or over a $5 bill.....why arent they asleep so can get up early in the morning for work?..just keep breeding more rats to outnumber the rest.

The previous President of Mexico told all of the people they had a right to come back to the southwestern states since those states had been taken from Mexico in the past. He is the cause of all of this and it will not go away al long as we allow them to "disrespect" us. They only respect those who demand it and we haven't been doing that. The last time was when the US army ran Pancho Villa back to Mexico and punished him somewhat.

The darkly humorous thing is, the new Arizona law closely mirrors the Federal Law in basic wording, in so far as how it treats the people. The big difference is that the Federal Law only allows the Feds to use it - locals are not authorised. So in actuality, it is a turf dispute. The Feds don't get the heat from the latinos because they largely ignore the law, wanting those latinos to support their agenda. Arizona is upsetting their applecart. ;)

Yea, the former messican government (if you can call it that) wanted all of the boarder states given back to messico. The only problem is that Texas (and Texas is not alone) was not taken from mexico.

Texas fought a war of Independence and won its freedom from messico. We were a sovereign nation twice in our history and elected to become a state in the union of the United States of America.

The only problem is that that illegal in the white house and the commie jerks in the house and senate have destroyed the meaning of the Constitution of the United States of America. In my opinion the United States is no longer a country unless the illegal crap that is spewing from congress and the senate is proven to be just that, illegal and the rights of the People are restored.

It is interesting that the Mexican flags that were so prevalent in the immigration riots a year ago are missing this year. A "change" in strategy. So many illegals that have been here for more than one generation are scared because they have never tried to get US citizenship. They feel it is their "God given right". Why isn't it that way for people from other countries? May be because they choose to obey the law. No respect.

Mexicans want respect. The bullshit in the California school where students were told to take off their American flag shirts so they wouldn't offend any Mexican students on Cinco de mayo day. If they entered the country legally (or were born here), then they are Americans! If they are here illegally, then they are criminals.......no two ways about it.

Our gov is the whole problem now days with the illegals along with those that are born here. Dangle the free checks in their face and they want it all given to them. Foreigners for years came here with their skills and helped build a better America and one I know after waiting his 5 years to become a citizen got drafted after only 4 months a citizen while I know of bums born here with hands out in the welfare rolls able to serve but since can't pass a drug test still get their welfare checks instead. That needs changed. Drug test for check. I had to take drug tests to work. We would accept those that pick apples, grapes, vegies if they would only get on the tax rolls and stop being a gang/drug problem. No profile then..if your kind are a problem then expect profile. Clean up your kind and profile will stop. After all, what able body american teen would lay on a plank and pick cotton all day? We would have to pay them $20 per hr, insurance, vacations, housing etc and then the rest of us could grump why a tomato cost us $40. So lets make your check avail with clean drug test first, stop taking away our rights just to give them theirs, let us say the word God or Christ or Merry Christmas with out being fired from walmart and learn to speak our language. My daughter isn't even alowed as a teacher to wear her cross around her neck under her shirt or will be fired. We need to oust everyone in office now and replace with new ones. Clean out the hen house. We need to make those in office pass a drug test too. I wonder how many would fail.

Interesting read on HC but I think lots of us need to post some of these ideas in our local news paper 'your opinion' section. I don't golf so don't read golf magazines so any news in there I will never hear. Go public.

Years ago when the Germans, Italians and the rest came here they applied their skills and helped build America. Our own born in this Country that get free everything from the government has led to those now that want to come here with their hands out. Problem is with our gov and our own native born. Who would not want a free check in the mail? After our welfare check people take/pass a drug test, we should put them to work in the fields laying on a plank all day picking vegies. But then we would have to pay them $20 hr + bennies, housing, paid vacations etc. Then a tomato would cost $40 each. They stopped the jail birds picking trash along the roads 'community service' after they would hurt their back, sue the state and walk away with million bucks or so. Work for the check. Pick vegies, pick up trash, did ditches, pave roads etc etc..I think that is why so many worked on the pyramids. Too many people walking around doing nothing the gov back then just put them to work for their food. That kept them off the streets. Kept them out of trouble. Just food for thought.

I combined what I posted and sent it to my liberal rag. They told me via phone call (you have to give your phone number) that they would not prinit it because they felt it was demeaning to Mexico and the Mexican people. I said, "F you, cancel my subscription IMMDEIATELY!" :mad:
I also sent it to that latino onper border amnesty loving S.O.B. Raul Grijalva, Congress Representative for mexico rather than the people of Arizona who voted him into ofice to represent them. I do hope the people of Pima county vote his sorry ass out in November but I ain't gonna hold my breath. I can only pray that he ends up very long gone.

first of all...let me say: "GO ARIZONA!!!!" if things had gone differently, my wife and i would be residents there now...we love the state...it has our support and blessings. they have the fortitude to stand up and take up where the federal govt REFUSES to do it's job of PROTECTING OUR SOVERIGN BORDERS!

that being said...

what all these so-called "activists" seem to conveniently forget, or ignore, is the treaty of guadalupe hildago of 1852 that separated the two nations as being separate and soverign nations and agreed on the political border; both nations signed the agreement. of course, they'd say "oooo...that's been a long time ago..." yes...it has...but if you want to follow that logic, shouldn't mexico be given back to the Mezo-Americans? after all, the spanish took it away from them...
