whats a marli 30-30 or 35 going for in your area

hi just wondering what the prices of a marlin lerveraction going for in your area used. my girlfreind got her first license this year at 27 years old after evryone told her she couldnt do it except me of course. she proved them wrong but now the search begins for a gun and she wants a 30-30 or a 35 marlin. used around here in ny they are 300 dollars or more u can get a new one in walmart for 350. just wondering how much other people are finding them for and if anyone has one to sell at a reasonable price. hope u all have a safe and fulfilling season thanks

Bought my used 336 in .35 Remington for $260 about 5 years ago or so......just looked at one today for $325, and it was nothing special.

I can say this is the wrong time to buy a gun unless you go new I dont no were you live you can try pawn shops and gun shows and dont look down on slug guns a 20 gauge will put a good hole in a deer both my boys killed there first deer with 20 gauge

Marlin 336's and Winchester M94's in 30-30 are selling for top dollar around here (Arizona) due to the high Mexican population. (Unoficially, the 30-30 is the 30-06 of Mexico.) I had two beater M94s that I paid $100 for one and $125 for the other. Sold them both for $400. M94s go high now that Winchester doesn't make them any more. I still have a couple of M64s and one two 94s, one a family heirloom and the other bought in 1981 new. I have one Marlin 30-30 as well that I got into cheap because the butt stock was badly cracked. I fixed it and it is a good shooter.
All I can suggest is hit the gun shows, pawn shops or buy new. Marlin does make a lowered priced model, the Glenfield I think it's called. Might be hard to find though as Remington bought Marlin out.

Last pre 64 M94 I bought was $100 on a penny auction that flopped and the marlin
was $75...both good shape...guy could no longer own it!!!! Course, that was a few years back. Mom n Pop gun shops are things of history in my metro.....

mom and pop shop here have tryed to go big time idk y and they think they know more than u do as an example i went into a store where i baught many guns and ammo for years now i asked if he had any 32 rem factory ammo in the original box and he tryed telling me 32 win and 32 rem are the same and can be used interchangeabley as i corrected him he got angery and just ignored me the rest of the time

New ones around $369, if you wait until right after deer season instead of right before like it is now you can pick up used ones for around $200 or less. Since season starts new used ones are running almost as much as new ones.

The market is going up so prices are all over the place around here for used Marlin lever actions. An average price would be around $300.00 or a bit more. So it depends. Hope this helps. All the best...

I would hold out for a pre safety marlin 336.

The new ones looks like plastic stocks even when they use a cheap walnut(marshield). The new remington marlins are far from the quality of the marlins of the 1980's and before. If you hold out till you find a good old one you will be very happy.

G-broker and g uns america always have shooter 30-30 or sometimes 35 rems on dollar auctions from pawn shops around the USA. Watch here and have them shipped to your local FFL and pay the shipping and FFL fee.

I have bought some at 200 and some at 400. The 400 was a 336 SC with waffle top in 35 rem and lyman 66 peep. It looked like someone had put it up for me for 60 years not a single scratch. Lots of people in a bad way on money right now and grandpa 30-30 often gets the sell over the AR rifle.
