We have access to a 34000 acre ranch not too far from home. Was out scouting today for Antelope and elk. Never got to check the elk out cause we helped rope some calves so they could get their shots. Nasty job..Horses are really necessary. We did get to check out the antelope. and Ohmigosh This place hasn't really been hunted in 10 yrs. We never got really close as the season starts on Monday and we didn't want to spook 'em We saw one group of 4 bucks and honestly 3 would make the record book if that is your thing. Some of the nicest antelope i have seen in years. and they want to thin the male to female ratio..Too many bucks. In all I guess we saw at least 15 really nice shootable bucks.Only one is verboten...and he is nice but a nontypical. Hopefully we can do a few pics on monday.Elk season is already in on the place. It IS a draw area and I didn't but do have a cow tag. To give ya an idea the ranch house is at 7221 ft by my GPS. Nothing fancy but the views are beautiful...and while I was there I bought a brand new Dillon 550B loader...like I need it. And while I came through Cody got a really good buy on another 45 auto.. A Kimber Gold Match Stainless...but this one weren't CHEEP although still a very good buy. Unhappily I didn't buy it for myself..SIGH but that is food for another post
