I took my younger son out for the youth deer seasen the farm is all corn thow it brings the deer in it makes it hard for seeing them.
Sat morn we got busted by the deer when they were walking out of the corn when we got up to leave we jumped a nice buck 8 pointer i think it would go 140 by the time i could get himon it was off the property and he couldnt shoot it.
when we hunted the evening we hunted were the deer were comeing out of the woods and feeding on the corn.
we were watching a group of deer when we noticed one was a decint sized one horn spike when my son was trying to get on it he said he couldnt shoot it becouse he couldnt see the ribs becouse of the waist hi grass.
I told him to fallow the back line and just drop it down a little to were the sholder is and shoot it.
I sat behind him and watched him line up and shoot the minut he shot i new he shot over it i told him shoot it again he said dad i shot it and i new he didnt the deer went back into the woods we got up and looked for blood we found none and we went up the trail and looked.
I have seen what he did before guys keep looking at the grass they try to shoot threw the grass and shoot over.
The deer did not come bak sunday we saw no deer sunday it ruff hunting with so much green and corn.
He was bummed he didnt get a deer but i told him we have the rest of the year and he will more chances.
