I have carried many of both types of pistols and still am sorting out which I prefer. After much rethinking, I prefer the DA revolver.
Ok, being old has its input, but when push-came-to-shove in my LEO days, the DA revolver was the most "User Friendly" arm. We all shot cap guns and water pistols as kids, and it all transferred over. Under STRESS, keep it simple and survive.

well i have both at the ready... it all depends on the day and my plans. now i know that is like wearing a seat belt based on wether or not you plan on getting in an accident. but a summer day of flip flops and cargo shorts out for a cigar with a friend does not warrant the bulk of a glock and 10rnds in it. little tiny smith 642 is super idea. walking the dog at 9 pm on a night like tonight i can hide it easy with no discomfort so why not have more weapon? i always say do what you have to do to make sure you have a gun on you. if a pocket gun you will carry on a summer day but a big 1911 is not something you feel like dealing with when its 90 humid and you are dressed in thin stuff well then you better have the pocket gun. all else different i like the semi auto just for capacity.

I alternate between 1911 and a SW M19. To me, I'm comfortable with both.
Any time is the prayer that it never comes to be!

My wife carries a Smith M-36...shoots it ok. Just picked up a Beretta 32 auto to put in the car for coming home at night. I try not to carry very often...PITA cause it's always sticking ya somewhere. When I do it's usually my Wilson Combat 45...I also have a 4 inch 19 or the same configuration M-15 that I carry in my coat in the winter. Always carry on the ranch/farm. Like the 19 more and more for that

Mod 60 SW 2" barrel. Like semi's but feel better with a revolver.
Carried a 1911A1 a lot of years for real and always was fine with it. Semi's have to cleaned a lot move than revolver and are in my humble opinion more reliable (watch out here the turds come).

I`ve always been a wheel gun fan. I usually pack a 329 PD. 1 st. rounds are prefraged and rest are 240 gr. HP`s. I don`t like the idea of takeing a knife to a gun fight. This gun seem to point real well for me too, quick shots and from the hip are no problem for close range.

During my 30 yr. career in Law Enforcement carried both. Now carry semi autos, mostly a Ruger LCP .380, but also have a Para 9mm on the 45 frame with LDA, or my old Colt LW Commander in .45 acp. It all depends on where I am goingand what I'm going to be doing, but the little Ruger is always with me. Also I shoot all 3 monthly at least, too many don't shoot enough with a firearm they might depend on.

I have more semiautos than revolvers, but I usually end up carrying a revolver most of the time.....a lot has to do with concealment issues, ect.
For CCW, I usually carry either a Colt Det. special in stoked with the old "FBI load", or a Walther PPk in .380 with Speer Gold dot HPs.
My other two that I routinely carry are a S&W M39 in 9mm stoked with Speer GDs and a Springfield Armory 1911 in .38 Super stoked with Winchester Silvertips.
I also have a CZ75 that I would like to carry more, but I don't feel proficient enough with it yet to do so.

Well an old Dan Wesson .357 with a 2 1/2 has been on many an adventure but a HK USP 40 Compact has been favored lately.

I like semi auto pistols, as well as revolvers for Concealed Carry. I have a modest selection to choose from, and rotate the carried hand gun to suit the season, dress mode and threat level.
Today, it will be a DAO three inch barrel S&W Model 65 with Hogue grips. The leather is, of course, by Sam Andrews.

8X56MS,
I like the M65 for CCW. I have a 3-inch M65 I built at S&W Armorer's School in 1982. I carry my M65 all the time while working around the farm, as well as on the street.
