sighting in a scope question

I am trying to zero in a scope for about a range of about 25 yards. It is shooting low right. My question is, since i am trying to zero it in at a relatively close range will it take more clicks of the windage/elevation knobs to see a difference?

Yes, more clicks may be required to move the point of impact on a target at closer ranges. Hope this helps. Take care...

The closer you are the more clicks, and further away less clicks.

When I put my Vortex on my .22LR MkII, it took about 10 or 12 clicks to move it an inch at 25 yards, sounded like a little Gatling gun moving it up three inches!

Most scopes are 1/4 minute of angle. This means that each click of the scope should move bullet impact 1/4 inch at 100 yards. Thus the same scope being zeroed at 25 yards would require four times that many clicks to move the impact the same amount. Inversely if you were zeroing the same scope at 200 yards it would take half the clicks to move impact. 4 clicks to the inch at 100 yds. 2 clicks to the inch at 200 yards, 8 clicks to the inch at 50 yards and so on and so on.

What scope are you using, on what caliber gun and are your using a bench? Have you mounted the scope yourself, or was it done by others? Did you read the literature that came with the scope? Yes, lots of questions, but it will helps us cut to the chase to assist you.
