If any of you need a King Eider, Harlequin, Old Squaw and maybe a few White Winged Scoter, I have a prime opening that just became available. Due to a party having to reschedule until 2013, the week of January 13th-18th has just become available. Normally this hunt is booked 1-2 years in advance as we can only offer 5 hunt sessions each year. Season generally runs from Dec 28th 2011 - Jan 23rd 2012. Hunt duration is 4.5 days although you are with your guides for 6 days. You will hunt out of Banks Boats in the sheltered coves and or along the shoreline. Limit is 4 birds of each species per year with a max limit of 20 sea ducks. This is a specialty trophy hunt for those hardcore waterfowlers that next these birds to complete a collection and want membership into the King Eider Club. You will arrive in Anchorage, then fly to Island X the next morning. Food and lodging is included and this is a fully guided hunt. This is the premium time to get these highly sought after birds in their prime condition as they move south ahead of the ice pack. Expect temps to average 20F-25F degrees and if the sea is too rough to launch the boat, you will head for sheltered coves to hunt. Sometimes the crab boats are there off loading and it may be possible to meet some of the guys from Deadliest Catch. Dining on Alaskan crab is a given. Artic Fox and Reindeer are also available. I met with the Captain over the weekend and was advised the tag is $100 for a Reindeer available from the Island Indian Council. You will need a Federal ($15) and AK State Duck Stamp ($5) and AK small game hunting license ($20). This is one of the best King Eider guides in Alaska: Aleutian Island Waterfowlers. Some of our fellow members have hunted with Charlie and a good number of my friends. All came home with their trophy birds. Cost is $4,200 for this hunt. For more details, contact me ASAP, this opening won't last long.

We also offer mixed waterfowl: Pacific/common Eider, Barrow's & common Goldeneye, Bufflehead, Harlequin, Scoters, Red Breasted Merganser, Aleutian Mallards, Pacific Brant, the highly sought after Eurasian Wigeon, Aleutian GW Teal, Rock Ptarmigan and more on Adak Island. This is a 4 day hunt for $2,400 with dates Nov 1st-21st or a 7 day hunt for $3,600 with dates between Nov 21st-Dec 19th 2011. 50% deposit required to book your dates. Again, these go very fast so contact me right away if your wanting to go.

Your trophies will be frozen and packed for your flight home. US residents will not need any special permits to take them home. Your departing flight will return to Anchorage. I can assist you if you need advice on bird Taxidermy. I know some of the best in the US.
