Oh, I think lots of folks are 'building things', but they are getting posted in other sections.....for example, I have some finished projects in the traditional muzzleloading forums (under 'leather projects') and in the taxidermy forum. Don't know if doing two posts on the same subject is a faux pax on these boards or not; on some boards it is.
Anyway, here is a dovecote (fancy name for pigeon coop) that I built earlier this year to house a few homing pigeons for dog training. Once I start flying the birds, they will be able to enter on thier own through a special gate on the top box. Currently, I have 8 homers, and some of them are sitting on a total of 7 eggs!

I am also working on a current project that I hope to have done in about a month or so......it's super top secret, so you'll just have to wait and see, but I'll give you a hint...it will also be posted (if allowed) in the waterfowl forum as well.;)

skeeter,

I built a free standing target frame today that is 48 inches high and 32 inches wide. I hauled it to my big 20-acre hayfield so I could range some rifles at 400 yards. The target frame is between to gongs. I fire on a bullseye target initially, check the spotting scope, and set my sights and then make "music" at nearly a quarter mile.

I also made some target stands..made 'em out of PVC pipe. Put targets on stretched wire . I'll take a picture and show 'em to y'all. I put sand or water in the base to give 'em some weight. I have a bit more than 500 yds to the sandstone cliff. I have targets at 100 200 300 and 400 yds. I can tell you..most people have 3x9 scopes. They want more when shooting the long ranges here. At the club I belong to in Cody..they have up to a 1000 yd range. I don't need to shoot that far.

I am looking at Uncle John Pirogue kits.

Other than that building porches, building benches, tables, shelves, etc. You know mundane stuff.

Well I had a friend come over yesterday and we closed in the carport on the end of the house. FINALLY got the 2 windows out of the garage. One was 3 ft by 6 ft and the other 5 feet by 8 ft.. Both were Andersens and I got 'em cheap..the big'un for 50 bucks. The other was a mullioned double hung that was new never installed but I hadda pay a hundred bucks for it. Counting the lumber and windows insulation etc I'm going to have a whole 800 bucks in that room. 14x14. Do this count for building stuff??
