I am now offering waterfowl hunts with Capt Adam Smith in the Boston, MA area. These hunts offer Sea ducks (Atlantic/common Eider, Old Squaw, Surf & White-winged Scoter), Canada Geese, Atlantic Brant, Black Ducks, Mergansers, and 7 varieties of Puddle Ducks & Divers. On occasion the King Eider. This area is known for producing banded Eiders. Last year a total of 19 were wearing jewelry. In the 2009 season, 36 bands were taken. This hunt starts before daylight in the bay, then ends between 11am-1pm for lunch (included). Then resumes in the tidal flats in the afternoon for ducks, Canada Geese and Brant, tides/weather permitting. A full limit in this State if you were to bag all limits would be 23 birds per day, so at least you have the opportunity to hunt a wide variety of species. Included: guide, boat/blinds, decoys, lunch, shotgun shells, tagging/freezing of trophy birds for shipment. Dogs are welcome if trained. Hunts are open with one to seven hunters, 3 day minimum at $350 per day. Deposit of $200 per day to book dates.

Season runs from early November-late January. Some dates are already booked, so contact me for open dates.

Not included: Hotel (the Marriot gives hunting guests a discount), breakfast/dinner, transportation to Boston area, license (HIP registration, MA & Federal Stamp), shipping of birds to your home.

Lobsters: Arrangements may be made with a local wholesaler to ship live lobsters to your home or pick up. Currently, they are running about $7.95 per lb.

GG
I believe he actually hunts in Boston Harbor. I have never hunted with me but had a friend that did. If my failing memory servers me right he had a great time and even shot a few birds. Believe it or not there is awesome sea duck hunting with the sky scapers of Boston in view. Just advise your hunters not to bring handguns into the state. Shotguns are fine as long as they have a valid hunting license and are from out of state.

Thanks buckhunter. That's what I understand, but we have no intentions of bringing anything other than scatterguns. Yeah, he hunts the harbor area and some friends reported they had a great time with Adam. We've booked early January so all species will be open. I'm really looking forward to it.

Our guns laws are shall we say totally geared toward taking them away. I have had a concealed permit for 35 years and still have to jump thru hoops when re newing. It can get cold up here in January so make sure you bring a lot of woolies. You should have a great time.

PM me when you get up here.

Yes, I've followed MA gun laws via NRA over the years and what a rough road you guys are traveling. I agree, it's all about taking away the rights of the law abiding citizen. As for cold weather, we're good to go. I've been an avid waterfowler most of my life and spent a day here in TN believe it or not where the wind chill was -44 that morning. Even the ducks left...lol. Shot one black duck with 3 minutes of shooting time left that afternoon. Our sandwiches were frozen solid and although we could toast the bread on the heater, the meat was still frozen inside. I like those mornings where it's around 18 degrees...makes those birds want to feed. I'll try and keep in touch before we head up and send our hotel accommodations. Would be great to say hello with a fellow hunter.

I've scheduled a hunt with them December 12-14th 2011 if anyone wants to join me for 3 days of waterfowling on and around Boston Harbor. Email me if you want full details. gg

We had a great hunt taking 5 out of 6 available species. I'll be doing this again for sure!

Hey GG,

That picture looks like it was taken in the Seaport district. Glad you had good weather.

The weather was very good to us buckhunter. However, the forecast changed the day I left and strong winds were predicted. I left just in time :)

This place can change in a minute's notice. The Atlantic can become a killer to anyone who is crazy enough to venture out on it in a small boat or even a real big one. Glad you had a good time and even shot a few birds. Deer season closes next week so it will waterfowl time for the next month or so.

Have a good Christmas.

Thanks buckhunter. Sorry for the slow reply. I have been busy with shows. Didn't get to deer hunt one single day; only got an Antelope in CO back in Oct. Shot 3 mallards and 2 geese here at home; terrible season and mild weather. Birds never came down from the north. Was fortunate to hunt the sea ducks, which was an outstanding time. Hope you fared much better...lol Cheers, gg
