Went to an auction or two..The first auction I went to get a Troy Bilt tiller(Got it too for a very fair price) but ended up buyin an old Remington M-8 pump in 30 Remington. Got 4 boxes of factory ammo and the rifle for 225 bucks. Not the best caliber in the world but have 4 more boxes of ammo and a 100 rounds of once fired brass.

2nd auction was last night. Been looking for a S&W K-22 for a while and got one last night in an auction in Montanny for 325 bucks. A little holster wear but really nice and tight. At the same time I also got a 98% K-38 for the same price as well as a Ruger 77RS in 338 Win Mag for 300. Have a friend looking for a K-38 so he'll get it. The 338 will be used at the next gun show for trading stock. And 2 days ago I got an as new Kimber in 300 Win SHort mag that a friend wanted..I get the scope..also got a Ruger 77 Mk-2 in 270 with a Nikon 4-12 and 6 boxes of ammo for 450 bucks. Gonna trade scopes on it and give the rifle to my grandson. About a week ago I bought a nice little Rem 788 at a pawn shop. A 243 that is going to my granddaughter. They are both going to hunt Sika deer(a tiny Japanese elk) down on the Eastern Shore of Md this fall. Being taped for some kinda TV show. My daughter was taped making her first bow killed deer last fall. Supposed to air sometime this year. Ah my..gotta quit buyin this stuff.....well..maybe someday!!

Why quit buying? You're in a good place, enjoying what you are going, and making a few bucks at it now and again. Sounds like the life to me.

Well Rich.. It's not like i was makin a killing on stuff. Sometimes I almost break even. But I am havin fun. I bid on a fair Winchester 75 Target last nigh but quit when the bidding got to 400. Then after tha auction I actually made money on the gun. It didn't have it's original sights..I had 'em which is why I was bidding. Sold 'em to the guy who got the bid at 410. Sold him the front and rear sights for 150.. I had taken them with me to make sure they were right and the guy bought 'em. Sometimes even when the plan doesn't come together..they still work out. Also at the sale I got a Remington 870 Skeet bbl for 25 bucks 12 ga of course..and an early(dated 1951) 20 ga skeet bbl for 35 bucks. But it came with a 16 ga marked skeet stock also(early guns were all 12 ga framed so it doesn't matter). Both will fit the old 20 ga 870 I have. Most 870 bbls don't go high here. Trap bbl brought 70 bucks last night but only cause I bid against the guy who got it. I have an 870 TB with a field bbl on it. Wanted the trap bbl for that gun. Also got a box of ammo last night..a lot of 16 ga ammo in the box..But the older quality ammo. Not this new junk dove quail ammo. Must have had 6 or 7 boxes in there. Main reason I bought it was there was 19 rounds of 338 Win Mag in the box.... 250 gr Silvertips..Paid 5 bucks and got a box of 22 Eley 10X too. Those darn things cost a bunch any more..Can ya still get 'em??

Wrenchman..there is nothing wrong with those Savage rifles. I like them too. But they have so many I can't keep 'em figured out. The 788's in this area usually sell pretty high considering they cost 59.95 when new. The one I got for my grandaughter cost me 350 but it had a Leupold 3x9 Compact on it. Only reason i got it for 350 was because I bought 4 bullet moulds and 2 die sets at the same time. I did make a profit on them though. Took the scope off and put a Bushnell 3200 elite on it and going to sell the Leupold at the show next week.
The Ruger 77's don't sell as high as the same caliber rifle in say a Remington 700. I can't say I consider them a superior rifle but have a tendency to keep the Rugers and sell the Remingtons...but I like claw extractor rifles. Back to the Savages..They seem to be as accurate as most if not more so than many. The fun part ...is finding out.... ya know!!
