From one of the worst gun shows I have ever attended. Saturday was soooo nice people just didn't come and play..Sunday was raining but it was daddy's day..still better than Saturday though. Sold lots of little stuff..only sold a couple of guns.. Somebody really wanted an ol Parker I had ..I really didn't need it so I'm glad it's gone.

Acquisitions though were numerous and varied. My best buy was a really nice Ohaus Dial-O-Grain scale..the holy grail of scales in my opinion..unless you consider the one that came in a wooden carrying case the Holy grail. This thing is perfect and I got it for the grand sum of 20 bucks. It is easily worth 200 or more. Got a load of commercial cast lead bullets in 45 Colt(255 gr) and 45 auto(200 gr H&G SWC) for 20 bucks a box(500) from the same person. Went back to get a few more and they were gone. I've always wanted a Ruger Bearcat for some odd reason and never had one. I got one at this show for 225 bucks. Kind of steep considering they only sold for 70-75 bucks. I did get a really nice little Bianchi holster with it though. At the last show I got a Ruger Single Six with xtra cyl that I gave to a friend for a good deed he did for me..Well I got another nicer one this time just a little cheaper with holster and a box of each type ..22 LR and 22 WMR. Not such a great buy was a Marlin 444 in as new condition with peep sight, dies, new brass, bullets, scope mounts, sling and case. Paid a bit much at 475 but I have 6 boxes of ammo that I can use in it...and on another note out of character for me..I bought a new casting rod fer fishing..paid 15 dollars and looked her up when i got home.... good gosh amighty..them fishin rods have turned really spensive...at least the good 'uns. This was a good'un too. I have a near new Penn International 965 reel to put on it.

Sold a couple of Star presses which is good and a P-W 375 press. Helped to pay for the things I bought. Always a good thing..otherwise I'd go broke in a hurry. And as a side note..I brung that little Bearcat in the house. Showed it to momma....Now I have to go find ME one..she absconded with my Bearcat

I have a very old Bearcat from 59, easy carry while bird hunting and niceto have for a bunny or squirell. A side note, I found that the Aquila 60 gr Super Sniper is very accurate at 15 yds in this little revolver.

Gonna try her out this afternoon. Hope it shoots ok. It sure is a tiny little thing. Oh It is an old model in the 21000 serial range.. Now...

Tomorrow I am going to look at a large lot of guns. All kinds from 45s to military rifles. The fellow has two that I am really interested in..but not messing with new guns don't know the values.. He has 2 Ruger 77 Mk IIs. Stainless with wood stocks. Sporters but one is a 25-06 and a bit heavy..the other is a 204 Ruger. He has a bottom line of 475 each new in boxes. Is that a fair price?? I seriously don't mess with new guns except for an occassional foray to a gun shop... is the price fair?? Should I buy 'em?? I don't need a 204 as i have a bbl for my Encore in that caliber...but ...and I have a real fondness for the 1/4 inch bore. I wore one of those older Ruger 77s in 25-06 out..twice... shooting that old Hodgdon 4831 Surplus powder and an old Winchester bbl'd to 25-06 suffered the same fate. Still have approx 6 lbs left out of a 100 pound keg. He also has a new in the box 1895 Marlin guess I am gonna have to check it out too. He wants 475 for it too..New in Box

1895 is a sweet sweet shooter. I think $475 for it ain't bad, but it depends on your area. In my area thats a decent price.

I dunno about the 77s, never owned one.

Skeet, I paid 450$ for a 77 MK 11, about 8 years ago, so, I think 475 is a fair price. The one I bought had some cheapo 3x9 scope on it, but that wasn't worth anything, in my view.
BTW, the 77 MK 11 I bought was a 25-06. :)

Yep the women really like Bearcats. Bought my wife one for Christmas many years ago. Great little shooters.

Talked to a friend today..the one I take to the gun shows..He's legally blind and can't drive.. He's really into this gun stuff..more so than I am..cept on shotguns. He wants to buy all the stuff this guy has.

Anybody know anything on a Steyr M-9 9mm pistol ot a Lazeraim 45 auto?? He also has a Browning HiPower new in box..wants 550. OK price??

.... Lazeraim 45........ I remember something in the way back of my noggin, and for some reason I don't remember it being good, but I don't know for certain, sometimes the "not good" flag on me is thrown because I remember a piece being way overpriced, not taking standard parts, etc..... Sometimes its because it was a hunk of junk. In this case I don't remember. The browning that is a pretty decent price for if it really is a Belgium browning. I have seen them cheaper but not in the last three or four years. If it isn't a Belgium browning then I would seriously pass at that price. The steyr M-9 is about a $350 pistol brand new, and I have very little experience with one to tell you if it is overpriced at $350 or not.

Well guys...I didn't buy the Rugers..New et al but the fellow didn't have the rings and didn't seem to care. Ruger Rings cost most of 50 bucks . Fellow wouldn't come down in price so i passed.. BUT...

I did pick up a few things. Got a new in the box Para-Ordnance P-13 for 500 and a Remington 721 in 270 with a period Weaver K-4 for 250 The best of the bunch was a Navy Arms 1873 in 45 Colt...but this is the deluxe gun with pistol grip stock 26 in bbl and it is also checkered and it is new. From what I have been able to find out so far they go for about a thousand bucks or so.. Got it for 425. Bet onea them cowboy shooters will really like it. Oh heck..I like it..maybe too much. Blasted thing is purty

Yep there's the Skeet I know and love. That 1873 pickup is the deal of the day there buddy. No doubt about it. I always liked the looks of 'em, but never could come up with a good reason to acquire them. I don't blame you for passing on the rugers at all buddy, some folks don't have a good grasp on costs when they start dumping things they don't want in the garbage. I had the same thing happen with rings for a rifle I picked up at one point. For some reason the guy tossed the low rings the gun came with, and later picked up a el cheapo extra extra tall peep under set.... this was after he removed the front and rear sights and tossed them in the garbage.... go figure..

At any rate, have a good un
