Global warming isn't in the future anymore, looks like it might be in the present!

Yep..we have global warming I am certain..the big difference is Gore wants us to believe it is all our fault..all caused by people. I am sure we are a minor contributing factor. But if it is all our fault..why is the surface of Mars becoming warmer??..All them cars we exported to Mars?? Yeah..gotta be that. I do believe that we are enjoying one of the cycles that the earth gets into..every now and again. Al wants us to believe it is US citizens who caused it all because if he can get cap and trade in effect...he will make BILLIONS

Don't know about global warming. Maybe climate change. The weather here in Saskatchewan has been coop & rainy. We haven't even seen summer yet!

Well, as a guy who has been around for 72 years, I can say we have this global warming problem every year about this time. I remember as a kid when the termometer in eastern Nebraska read 114 F. in early August. We just fingured it was hotter than usual and slowed our activities. I can't figure out why people start dying when it warms up. I would think they would know how to beat the heat by now. The Arabs have it this warm and they haven't died off.

Yep the Canadians are into another ice age and we are into global warming. Know what I think? It is the intersection of July and August and this heat is just heat index. The Weather Channel is a giant PITA, this time of the year they are getting into shape for their annual monkey flips and nut rolls. Talk about hysterical, it runs rampant at the WC.

The big problem I think is salt. It has been eliminated from the diet of many and low salt will kill in the heat. Breaking bread and eating salt is a tradition for Arabs.

I think that's an intersting point you make on salt. However, you must realize the FOOD POLICE know much better what's good for us peons.
Living here in the desert, been a desert rt for at least half my 73 years, I know that when I get to feeling thirsty and water don't cut it, adding about a quarter teaspoon of sald to a big glass of water makes one hell of a difference When I was in the military, stationed just out of Las vegas, we were issued packets of salt tablets to take with water when working outside. Then one day, they collected up all the salt tablets and we were told they were no good for you. Lots of problems with heat exhaustion and a few cases of heat stroke just before I transferred out over seas. I mustered out when I came home so I don't know if they ever went back to the salt pills, at least for desert use. Next time I talk to one of my Grandsons, one is still in Iraq and the other back from Afghanistan, if I remember I'll ask them if they were given salt pills or some other form of electrolytes. I know that when I go to he range this time of year, I take several water bottles filled with Gatorade. Usually four and sometimes five and there have been times when that wasn't enough.

I agree with Larryjk - in my 54 years I can remember much hotter AND colder times in my mis-spent youth. We tend to make much more use of AC nowdays, and people do not become aclimated to the heat like they used to. Makes it SEEM a lot hotter. I recognise this in myself as well. Ten years ago, in a little rental singlewide, I had NO AC and it was a hotbox! Went through beaucoup ice-water with fan cranked up and sweated it out.
Here in sunny Florida we had our big 'heat wave' in June, hitting over 100 degrees many days.
Now in July it has eased up, days in the mid 90s, nights dipping into the 70s. Rainy though, which is nice as it is breaking our drought.
Camping last weekend was actually quite nice.

"Global Warming" my hind leg. A money-making scam, nothing more. On another forum site, a feller listed prominent news articles of scientists voicing the exact same nonsense (and the 'coming ice-age crap) as far back as the mid 1800s, all the way up through the 20th century! Sensationalism sells papers, radio and TV space. As always - 'follow the money'!
Me, I'll drink another glass of ice-water, crank the fan to 'high' and enjpy the summer! :)
I like to keep AC use to a minimum - no sense feeding the local "Arc&Spark' company any more than I have to.
