I saw an advertisement for these and was wondering if anybody had tried them in a 300 RUM and what were your results. I haven't read about them at all, can they be used for hunting? Thanks

Frank,
Are you referring to the new hybrid 230gr Berger designed for the 1-10 twist and freebore? It looks like the Weatherby guys are excited, especially those with the large capacity cases like the 30x378 guns.
There are a couple of folks on other boards that have indicated they just got their hands on these bullets in the last 10 days and are working up loads but none have shot them just yet or either none have posted results based on optimum load results.
With a thick jacket, a BC of .711 and designed for 3,000 fps plus, they should be very interesting for the long range hunters and shooters.:)
