Hi all...been a long time due to lots of different things so I'll just give you a quick rundown, not much time cause I've got lots and lots of stuff to do.

Last fall we bought a large parcel of land to build a camp. We were out there a few times during the winter to figure out where everything was going to go, and to just go for a sled ride.

In April I broke my leg in two places, had orthopedic surgery and spent 8 weeks flat on my back with my leg stuck up in the air. Drove hubby completely bonkers but then I figured it was fair cause I was going completely bonkers. lol

June I started gettin around more and was able to go out and help a bit out a the camp. Hubby's been fixin the 'road' in (actually the snow traveler's trail, then the goat path on our land) and cuttin wood for heating, and clearing et all.

This brings us to August. We've got the spot for the cabin almost cleared, some trees down and drying to build with, our camper is out there for a temp spot to stay while we work, we've moved lots of sand for our trails and such. The last two weeks we've stayed out there working on the beach, cuttin more trees, clearing more area for the cabin, starting to build and outhouse, etc etc etc...We came home yesterday and are headed back out Friday for a few more days, then every day off we're back at it. It's lots and lots of work but when it's done it's our own piece of heaven built from our own trees with our own hands. :D

Here's a tease...this is our bay at sunrise, from our dock. Lots of moose, deer, bear, waterfowl, large mouth, small mouth bass, northern pike, walleye...I could go on and on. :D

IQ,

Sorry to hear you've had a rough year health-wise. Hope the leg is as good as new.

Sounds like you've got a lot of work lined up. Hope the build goes well.

Great pic of the lake... Looks peaceful. And sounds like it's full of fish with tons of game in the area.

Don't be a stranger... LOL!

First of all wecome back you were missed. Glad that you are making a good recovery with your leg. New place sounds very inviting for next year, two things I love smallmouth and waterfowl. Keep us appraised on its coming.

Thanks everyone, I sure don't get on here near as often as I should. But, once things settle a bit here, aka winter lol, I'm going to try and stop around much more often.

We're headed out tomorrow to start bringing in our winter wood for the house, gonna be a long weekend of loading, unloading, and piling...lol
I'll try to post pics as things progress out there. Hubby took the Ministry guy out on Tuesday and he gave us the go ahead to do whatever above the waterline, now we're just waiting for the Fisheries guy to see if there's gonna be a problem making the boat launch and beach. Then we have to get our building plans engineered and get the word from the town office so we can start building as soon as our logs are skinned and dry.

Hope you're all having a great season so far :)

Sorry to hear about your leg, but glad it healed alright. I am jealous of your property. We just bought a new house on 2 acres in February and I have my hands full with it right now. We are putting in a wood burning furnace and in August I cut and split about 6 cords of wood just to be on the safe side. I have 2 cords stacked right now, with a lot more stacking to do. Probably going to cut and split some more wood over the fall/winter.

With all the work to do on the new to us house, I am now looking at rental properties and 75+ acre parcels of property on the eastern shore. Got to make sure I have no time to sleep.

With everything going on, I still got out to dove hunt on Saturday and got my 15 bird limit. Life is good.

Glad to see you are keeping busy Ice and that you have a piece of property of your own. How many acres did you guys get? If you were a little closer, I would be hitting you up for firewood. LOL Too bad you are just slightly beyond my willingness to drive for firewood. LOL
