Got a bunch of stuff from a lady the other day.. Reloading stuff actually. No it wasn't a great deal or anything but In all the stuff there was more than 40 bullet moulds.. most are in exc conition and some unused. There was even one of those little 30 cal bullets used for the 30 Luger I think even got some round ball and maxiball moulds Reason I am posting about this stuff is ...included in all of it there is over a thousand pounds of reloaded ammo. Mostly shotshells What do I do...What do I do??I also got a couple of Old model Ruger Single actions for a very good price so I took the reloads The guns were A Blackhawk 357/9mm combo and a Single six from the late 50's. Checked a few of the loads for 12 ga..and the red dot loads were on the money...but I hardly shoot 12 ga any longer Also got an unused Littleton shot maker

skeet,

I am wary of other folks reloads, as I stated on another thread. That half-ton of reloads would make a fine boat anchor, in my opinion. One could break the stuff down for components. Consider it theapy.

I am also very leery of other people's reloads..Shotshells not as much. I would never throw away a resource like the shot wads etc. As far as metallic ammo..I break it down. There is probably 1500 .223 rounds in this mess loaded with what looks to be Nosler Ballistic tips and other soft point bullets. I will break them down. Then a lot of the brass looks to be new never fired commercial. The loads listed on the boxes also looks to be middle of the road rather than full speed ..I will still break it down.. I did get a 1000 rounds of factory .223(Federal) and 2500 rounds of factory(some Russian some Winchester) 7.62 x 39 ammo too. Also got a new die set in 7.62 x 39(RCBS) with both sizing buttons .308 and .311 Novel idea. I think the Ruger bbls measure .308. SKS and AKs are all over the place.

Had a fellow came over today..sold him a handgun I got in this deal..forgot to mention the RG 22 SA revolver.. Ugly.. But the guy wanted it and the mossberg 410 I have been keeping around for some odd reason. And he bought 20 boxes of those reloaded 12 ga for 50 bucks.. I even got him to sign a letter that they were unknown reloads and he was responsible for their use. Now I only have a 150 more boxes or so. One of the cans...(Mortor rocket cans) had 30 boxes of Win AA old style shells in it...well 29 1/2 boxes. Trap loads of 7 1/2s...sold for 7 bucks a box..They like those old AAs. I used to also. STSs are better.

skeet,

I am retained by several attorneys hereabouts to do gun appraisals for estates. I also do appraisals for folks who want to know what they have. A lot of widows want to move to smaller homes and "want the guns out of here" before the realtor brings prospects by. Most often, after I give my appraisal, the widow will make a "Bid" for me to move all that stuff out. I have to be selective these days because both vaults are full.

I've done quite a few appraisals over the years. I only charged if they didn't give me the chance to buy or sell them myself..and never charged widows. Just didn't seem right. One "crook" in the area I used to live in charged 10% of appraised value..and his appraisals were high..of course..sometimes way too high. If I get a chance to get a decent firearm for a fair price ..I always do so. I do not buy junk though...unless it has useable parts.. I just bought another safe for the garage this time..and I got a vault door for the vault downstairs..I don't think I can fill it up..for quite a while. The garage safe is for the guns on work on.. Just ordered a chambering reamer in 222 Rem Mag. Gonna chamber a 722 222 into the mag case.. Then I can sell one of the 22-250s

You guys ever get an eerie feeling about dealing with widows? You know, you might be seeing the future.

And that is why I do not charge widows. I have a list of all my good stuff that will go to auction when I craok as I have about 250,000 dollars of current value in collectible guns..the shootin stuff will also go to auction. I talked to someone about it just 2 weeks ago
