Well Guys !
I got out to shoot this 1911 today and it exceeded my expectations,
Once I got the rear sight adjusted to my liking, it shot from a benchrest
at 25 yds 1 1/4" groups with very little effort. I am amazed at how accurate
it is . It is probably my most accurate 1911 pistol I have! Springfield did their
homework on this pistol , It is one tack driver of a 45! And it definitely
can shoot better than I can! :) Happy Shooting Everyone! :):D;)

Adam,
I was shooting 230gr Berrys Plated FMJ Bullets behind 6.0 grs of Unique powder,
seems to be a good midrange target load. It also knocks down steel sillouhette
targets at 25 yds with authority! :)

Very nice! I see somebody obviously didn't make the naughty list this year!

I have been drooling over springfield's milspec for a couple of years now, just can't justify it to the wife.

6.5,

Can you give me some of the Specs for properly lubing you pistol? I hear guns at the local club that are dry and the scraping sound makes my blood run cold.

Adam,
When I lube my 1911's which is after every shooting
outing. I use a synthetic white grease called TW 25 B
It was advised to me to use this by my gunsmith,to
use sparingly on the slide rails. For everything else I use
5W-30 oil, one drop on the link on the barrel , barrel bushing, barrel locking lugs,
and disconnector. One drop on each spot does the trick. Do not over lube, but
it does need lubricated, running dry is asking for premature wear and
other trouble.
Regards 6.5 :)

Congradulations on a great pistol. I have a new Springer waiting for me at the dealer, but have been in Louisiana duck hunting. Will get it Tues., hopefully will shoot as accurate as yours. Again congradulations.

Thanks Popplecop,
I was out shooting it today and was having a ball
shooting steel sillouhete targets at 20 yards. The
accuracy on this gun once you get the sights dialed
in , is amazing. 1 1/2 " groups offhand at 15 yards.
Makes one think they are a pretty good shot! LOL!!!!
Hope yours is a keeper I am sure you will like it! Also
post some pictures of that new Springer of yours it sounds
interesting and I would enjoy seeing it!
Regards
