Well the season is open again for the 'off season' hunting. Crows came back in season July 1 and we have been out. We are suprised with all the uneducated new borns their response to the calls is very slow. Maybe it is this heat wave we been having. Lots of hawlks and other birds of that nature run right to the call and a huge turkey buzzard even tried to pick it up once when he swooped down. Lots of fun though...maybe take ride to the groundhog fields today. Anyone else hunt crows?

We have a split season, half in the fall and the remainder in the spring. I do hunt them on occassion not as much as when they weren't protected by federal law. Most was done in the winter then. Right now temp is going to 100 today, already over 90, wouldn't hunt them if the seasonw open. Crops are drying up rapidly, very poor year for our farmer friends in southern Wisconsin.

Crows still not responding very well in this area. Even the 'pro' crow hunters say they having same results...not much noise and the scout is about the only one that comes even close ..says nothing..leaves..all quiet again..and we have covered lots of area...oh well...guess they had a big talk with all those young newborns..shhhhhhhh..maybe forget about crows for while and go after the yotes..I still think is is because of the hot weather..
