Well the wife got drawn for the moose permit in Maine got a bull permit up near fort kent right WMD 2 next to canada. Now to get a trailer hook up a winch to it and generator to run the electric winch. Also need to get some inch rope real long. In case shot of the side of the logging road. Moose are kind a big. Son got a moose 9 years ago when he was 14 went 983 pounds field dressed. Am I forgeting any thing all reccomendations welcome.All so if any body with muscles wishes to go you are welcome.

So you get to go watch and load the critter? You can hardly tell her like the Old NH Hunter told me one time, going up on a mountain; "You kill a bear up on that mountain and he is yours, you understand, all yours." Thought about that for a short bit and decided all bears on the mountain needed to stay on the mountain. I was living in NH at the time. But it was the very first time I learned that there are places you shoot critters and places not to shoot critters.

Sounds like shooting a 1,000 pound moose in a knee deep alder marsh might be all the fun you can have or want for one day.:D

One thing to remember is that the pieces of moose are much lighter after you subdivide them. Just keep subdividing until they are small enough to handle.

Some hunter buy a small chain saw put cooking oil in the oil tank and use that to cut up a moose into sections. We will make a can we get the moose out before we shoot question

Yep, the chainsaw would work, a little messy, but would work for sure. We use a cordless Saws-all, herebouts for breaking down a carcus. With a rope, pully, T, gut hook, tennis ball and a 4 wheeler, we can move a critter, cut the inside skin, tie a tennis ball off, hoist it up and pull the skin off, all in a jiffy. Drop the guts, then run down the backbone on each side and in short order that Saws-all has everything cut into cooler sized portions for an ice bath.

Since the Saws-all does not get goo all inside, it is very easy to clean up, after. I have a Milwalkee Lithium unit I use at the farm a lot, for all manner of rough projects like fitting fence bracing for a mile of fence, putting in about 2,000 feet of pipe, etc. They are handy.

The portable saw is great idea I will go with that. The wife is a good shot I taught her still not sure if that was a good idea.
Will just have to make good choices on the shot. The permit holder and can add a person to the permit so you can have two shooters I get to back her up on the shot. Law says both permitie and sub pemitie must be in sight of each other all times good law makes sure you only shoot one.

Google for the gutless method of deboning. I know many that use that up her to get a moose or Elk out.

I don't know how to do it myself, the only moose I ever got feel right where we could drive up to it with truck & trailer.
