Dove starts in 15 days. And there are no Dove Load to be had. I have checked every where with in 70 miles. They say they sell out in 2 to 4 hours when they get them in. And they will not tell you when they will get them.
Looks like I will not be out there for the first time in 50 years.

Why not use standard skeet and trap loads

The only 12 GA I can get is Steel Duck Loads. I don't think I should use them in my 52 y/o Gun

Dove loads are one of the few things we have right now, of course it's mostly 12 gauge and 28 gauge but we do have them on the shelves. Anything else, Don't count on it. Westerner2 I would try www.cheaperthandirt.com they can ship them to you pretty darned quickly, and they usually have good prices.

GOB California ain't like Texas. Its like Massachusetts and I seriously doubt they can or would ship to CA. Or Colorado, or New York or Maryland, or DC. Its sucks that it has come to this.

Just told my son (GoodOlBoy) about the latest add in the paper for Academy Outdoors here in Texas.
Don't know if you guys have those (Academy) in California but they have a bunch of dove loads on sale at better prices than I've seen in 3 or 4 years.
Dove season is coming here soon as well and if you think 12ga and 20ga is hard to come by just think how hard it is to get 16ga here or anywhere.
My son maid my life harder when he got me interested in the 16ga. Love it and ain't going back.

Thanks but we do not have that store in California that I know of. A Trucker friend found some in Utah and is bringing them to me. Had him pick me up 300. That will last for a year or so. Maybe by then the World will be will have it's head back on where it should be.
Thanks to all Westerner2

Westerner2.. I was just at a wholesale place in Pa last week. The gal that runs the place is an old friend. She told me she thinks it is gonna be a good long while before we get back to normal...if ever. Her words...not mine. She has her finger on the pulse so to speak better than I do.. And I talked to a friend with Remington and he has an even dimmer view. I surely hope they are wrong. The powder problems stem from rules for shipping overseas more so than here. Meaning Hodgdon is having probs with some of their powder line. Or so I have been told
