Well, the Navy yard shooting has stirred the pot again. Obama is trying to get his agenda on guns up front. He can't win with anything else so he will try guns again. It should be obvious to him and the lawmakers that they have been trying to put out the wrong fire on guns. If the statistics are studied, it is so obvious that two relationships on mass shootings keep cropping up. (1) The last 35 mass shooting incidents have all taken place in "Gun Free Zones". Why don't they eliminate those---they would have to admit they made a mistake when they first identified the zones as safe for the shooters. (2) Most of the shooters are identified as mental poster boys. Now I can hear the screams that the mentally unfit should not be on a list of not being able to have fiirearms. We must make some choices about the mentally ill. First, there must be a way to identify them and a way to see their name is removed from the list if they are considered "cured". If we come up with a new system for the mentally ill, we can watch what happens in the future and see if we were wrong. It should be a changeable system so we can make changes as necessary.

Larry,
I saw the President on TV today and he hawked the same FAILED anti-gun program. These Liberals constantly think "If we pass enough laws, we can fix this problem." As a retired lawman, I say NO law prevents anything. Second, expanded background checks presuppose ALL the data is in the data base. The Navy Yard shooter shot tires off a car, shot through the floor in his apartment house and told the cops his toaster was talking to him. He was arrested, and released, at least twice.
Wayne LaPierre was correct when he said, "The answer to bad guys with guns is good guys with guns." Nuff said...

Larry, this will never end. IMO, the unstable should be listed in a NICS base so it will
trip a flag. We have gotten so pc that we are afraid to hurt the feelings of any one but the good guys.

The sad part is that the truth has no relevance to this argument as far as the communist are concerned. I refuse to call the Clown Prince of Chicago a liberal, he is not liberal by any definition I know of and he darned sure is not a progressive anything. He is a communist plain and simple. He simply wants to disarm the people so he can gain power over them and his minions, including Pelosi and Harry the Reed are worse. I just fervently hope that they have pushed the people to the point that in 2014 that the Democraps loose the Senate and the Republicans get more like Cruz and Rubio, second generation anti Castro, Cubans.
