First one is an older Browning Hi Power in mint condition. Wooden Grips, knurled hammer and a T serial number prefix. Got 4 extra mags. Now I finally have succumbed to the double stack magazine. Did it my way though steel and wood. Don't believe it will displace my 1911s though. Am anxious to get out and shoot it this weekend.
In the deal I also got to single action Colt style in 45 Colt. One is an older American Western Arms Longhorn with a 4 5/8ths barrel. Again almost mint, very smooth action. The one that interested me the most is a Cimarron Thunderer 3" barrel with a modified birdshead grip in 45 Colt. I already have a Win. 92 copy and a Win. 94 in 45 Colt plus a Ruger Combo 45 Colt and 45 acp.
The Western Arms will probably end be given to my daughter or a grandson along with one of the rifles. May be they will turn out to be cowboy shooters. The Hi Power is something I've always wanted and now will give it a good trail to see how well I like it.

Nah Gill ...he did better than just fine..He did GREAT. The High Power is a really nice gun.. The single actions were just a bit of icing on the cake..LOL See how that HP shoots Hollow points..Some of 'em didn't doo too well with 'em but mostly early ones..with the T prefix it is a bit later I think. Now if'n I can do as well in Vegas..I will come home modestly wealthy LOL

Yep, good shot sounds like to me. Just a note though, the Hi Power is known for function when needed not really their accuracy. Find out about its diet and feed it what it will eat. If'n you ever get a hankering to make it give your 1911 a run for its money, send it to Bob Coogan at Accurate Plating, he makes a custom Hi Power that will really catch your eye. I have shot agains several of them over the years and they can be made into a real shooter with a bushing and a match barrel.

Well I really like the Browning Hi Power, but because of its condition and being a T Series don't want to mess with it. The sights and small safety I want to change and want to take the magazine discounter out. What to do. Well I sold the one Peacemaker clone and bought a FEG Hi Power clone. This particular one was an Israeli Police Pistol. A friend was in the predicament I was did this and then proceeded to make it into a carry pistol. Ordered it on Wed. was at the PO on Friday. Did the paperwork on Sat. and picked it up today. Very good condition, bright shiny bore and 3 dot sights. Hope shoot it tomorrow and figure out what parts to order from Midway. Can't believe an old 1911 man could ever take up with these Hi Powers.

Well I shot it, sights are good, shoots well at 25 yds., but the trigger pull is out of sight. So ordered some refinements from Midway, new safety, and Wolf Springs. Should be here next Thurs. and will start the modification process. Am anxious to get it up and running.

Well got the FEG switched over with new springs and an ambidextrous safety. Now a very nice copy of the Browning/FN High Power. Am very satisfied with the pistol now.
