So, I went to get my new scope put on my 300 RUM last Aug when I got back from my deployment. My gunsmith says he can't get it boresighted without using all but an inch of windage. For some reason it was pointed clear to the left. This was my second set of rings and bases, so I was worried. He grabbed another scope off his shelf and come to find out, the receiver was incorrectly drilled from the factory and it was off center. I bought this gun back in 2006 and have had two other scopes on it. It always held a zero, but I wanted to start shooting longer ranges, and I got a good deal on this Nightforce. So I call Remington, heres where I messed up. The guy on the phone tells me, " it's a factory defect, send it to us, we will verify and send you a new gun". I didn't get the guys name, and I should have got it in writing. So, Remington sent me a prepaid UPS label and UPS picked up my gun. I call Remington later that week when it arrived, and of course they are backed up right now because of their infamous trigger disaster. They said they would call as soon as they look at it and let me know. The next thing I get is an email saying, we're sorry, we don't carry that action anymore( It's a BDL deluxe with scrollwork) but they would sell me a new barreled action for $251. So I called them and went rounds with them, of course I didn't get the name of the individual who told me I'd get a new gun. I told them I wasn't paying them crap, and that since it is taking so long, I am not going to have a gun for deer season and that if they are not going to give me a new gun, either let me talk to their boss or send me my gun. so, they go ahead and warranty my gun, but I'm not getting a brand new gun out of box. They are just going to replace the barrel and the action and give me back my stock, bottom metal and trigger group. I totally didn't understand the reasoning behind it, but oh well. I also asked them if the could thread the barrel, I have a muzzle brake. I get a call back, three different times over about a month asking about what threading and so on. They tell me they only do left handed threading and wanted to be sure of mine. I said no, right hand and I told them again. He replies, I have already been authorized to thread and install a brake for free. So I said, ok since you have already threaded it, put one on. So after several months, I get it back and I finally got the scope, stock, and the Timney trigger will be on in the next couple days. I can't wait. My stock is a Bobby Hart Accublock stock, Night force 20 MOA one piece Rings and base, Nightforce 5.5-22X56 scope, Remington factory Muzzle brake. I have a Timney trigger that will be in this week and I'll be ready.
