Are you still out there? I just moved in April to the upper peninsula of Michigan to a little town called Saint Ignace right on Lake Huron after 44 years in Reno, NV. I know you live in Michigan and was wondering in upper or lower? My wife is from St.Ignace so I decided to treat her with a move-back. Winters are a son-of-a gun (I know, was here in 70-71). Looking for places to hunt and fish.

deer population is down right now in most of the u.p. but you have lots of great hunting and many areas to choose from good luck.

Lots of deer and turkeys by me in Gladwin Co. But NO fall turkey hunt!!

The neighbor who owns the land where I deer hunt is selling his property, so this will likely be my last hunt season there. Luckily I found a local who lets me turkey hunt his 40 acres.

Got your PM and will do. A friend here in the UP said the wild turkey's are not that good eating...Your opinion?

They are great eating! But very different from the “Butterball” farm raised birds most people grew up on.
