Wow! After reading that vitriolic letter to America from the Lone Canadian (what the heck is his problem, anyway?), I'm wondering if ManBEEF could use a new entre - Canadian Bacon.
Not to say anything bad about the majority of Canucks - I've got some good friends north of the border. This one jerk just has me steamed . . . uh, mad. Wonder if he's brain fried? "Mmmmmm . . .fried bacon!"

Hey. S&D, welcome aboard.

How will a shooter put up with all the artsy-fartsy types in Sedona? Unless you spend all your time in that little beer and burger joint at the south end of town, you won't fit in very well among the extreme leftists who infest that gorgeous area.

You and Mad Reloader ought to hook up. He lives right near there.

Mad Reloader
10-06-2002, 12:58 PM
Actually, we already HAVE kind of hooked up, Rocky old buddy. ;)

Right now one of our ongoing projects is getting out of Maricopa County (TMR's currently living near Mesa, AZ) and somewhere better. Cottonwood AZ is sounding nice--though I prefer going back to Camp Verde, or the Rimrock/McGuireville area FWIW. {We're still puzzling out the best locale in that area. So far the only places OUT of the running are Prescott Valley (yuck! :p) and the aptly named Cornville. (shudder! :eek: )}
IMHO, wherever the Arizona Cabela's ends up will be my preference. (someday soon, I hope!)

Come to think of it, we DID go to a beer & burger place yesterday up towards the Cave Creek area....

Hey, is ManBeef going to stay here, or are you going to take S&D up on the move? Haven't talked to wildwolfe1 about this yet....

As the person who raised the issue of moving the thread to Outdoor Cooking (which started out as a joke), I was surprised to see that things had heated up to the point where the thread itself is threatened with extinction. The Manbeef thread and its particularly tasty brand of humor is one of the main reasons I like this site. I love to laugh; This stuff is FUNNY , and if it isn't patently obvious that this is HUMOR, some people need to get a LIFE!!!!
I would like to share my feelings about censorship as well. IT'S JUST WRONG. I am not advocating Cannibalism, nor (as far as I can tell) are any of the other Manbeefers. By moving the thread, we can laugh about it in a "corner" where everybody isn't FORCED to listen, but can join in if they CHOOSE to. As mazter said, "if you don't like it, don't read it. Pretty simple."

The fact that the thread has been around so long and has such a high rating speaks most eloquently for itself.

(Story time for all us ManBeefers! Hope you've got some munchys!)

The following is an excerpt from the classic H P Lovecraft story, "The Picture in the House."

In it, a traveller (mayhaps an ancestor of Clarice Sparrow?) circa 1896 takes a shortcut through the backwoods of New England, and stumbles upon a lone, dilapidated house dating from the late 1600's--which he thought was abandoned until after entering and finding not just some worn-out furniture of the 1700's, but a circa 1590's tome on the Congo region of Darkest Africa...and a singular, dishevelled old hermit fixated upon that same book. The excerpt below starts at the point where the hermit explains his "favourite part" of Pigafetta's account of Senhor Lopex the Portuguese mariner:

"As I says, 'tis queer how pitchers sets you thinkin'. D'ye know, young Sir, I'm right set on this one here." (The old man points to the twelfth plate in the 16th Century tome, the one that showed the Anzique cannibal butcher shop) "Art'er I got this book off Eben I uster look at it a lot, especial when I heered Parson Clark rant o' Sundays in his big old powdered wig! Once't I tried su'thin funny---here, young Sir, don't get skeert---all I done was ter look at the picter afore I kilt the sheep for market---killin the sheep was kinder more fun arter looking at it---" The tone of the old man now sank very low, sometimes becoming so faint that his words were hardly audible. The traveller listened to the rain, and to the rattling of the bleared and dirty small-paned windows, and marked a rumbling of approaching thunder quite unusual for the season. Once a terriffic flash of lightning shook the frail house to its foundations, but the aged whisperer seemed not to notice it.
"Killin' sheep was kinder more fun---but d'ye know, 'twa'nt quite satisfyin'. Queer haow a cravin' gits a holt on ye---As ye love the Almighty, young man, don't tell nobody, but I swear ter Gawd thet picter begun to make me hungry fer victuals I couldn't raise nor buy---here, set still, what's ailing ye?---I didn't do nothin', only I wondered haow 'twud be if I did---They say meat makes blood an' flesh, an' gives ye new life, so I wondered ef 'twas more the same---"

---Thee Mad Reloader's not going to give away the ending of this classic tale of horror (and ManBeef!) You'll have to read it for yourself! :p

Manbeef, whether it is considered in poor taste or not(ok it is bad taste but so what :D :D )Is just for fun, and if a person refuses to visit HC because of this one little joke then too bad for them. HC will survive without them because its members can look past this and see deeper into what HC truly stand for.......and if we get rid of this thread then it will also stand that the whole topic "Almost Anything Goes" Deserves to be buried as well.....as well as any other topic that "somebody" might consider offensive.

to help protect the African wildlife. After reading the post on the armed Conservationists trying to protect African animals from marauding poachers - it's time to make a change in the "bushmeat trade". MANBeef would be a natural - especially with the reputation of this part of the world. Hey, they want to get back to their roots? Divert that shipload of Yugo SKS's being held by the Italians (we American collectors won't miss three shipping containers!) to arm the militia, ship in some ammo from the 'Stan - they are all set! They'll need a shipload of Kingsford's best, too. We'll have Hormel setup a processing plant, as part of the Economic Aid plan. Put an end to the famine, create jobs, protect the animals - a win-win situation! :p

Going to go check it out. Failing that, will call my lady friend Smooth&Deadly (Ms. ManBeef to you!) and have her start a NEW web page for MANbeef if it comes down to it.

Oh, the Lord of the Rings has a pro-MANbeef spot in it. That one scene where the wizard Saruman tells his army of Uruk-Hai Orcs,

"You will taste Man-Flesh!"

& they all cheer.

Edited to add:

Site's still down. Rats!

Time for TMR's Literary List of MANbeef references:

"A Modest Proposal", by Jonathan Swift. A compelling pro-ManBeef argument!

"Lord of the Rings," by J.R.R. Tolkein. You gotta love those Uruk-Hai Orcs of the White Hand! ;)

"The Picture in the House" by Howard Phillips Lovecraft. Best ManBeef short story ever! JMHO here....

Recently at lunch, I was reminiscing about ManBeef.com and was surprised that nobody know what I was talking about. Manbeef.com was the best choice for quality human meats, and gourmet human meat products. It's really too bad the FDA shut them down. Anyway, I found the archive for the web site and selected the following "juicy" quotes from its various pages for your "consumption". They pretty well convey the "flavor" of the site (the last one's my favorite).

"For the last 19 years ManBeef has been the worlds leading human meat distributor. We have established a reputation for having only the highest quality human meat products and dedicated customer service representatives. "

"Every cut of human meat we sell has been selected for its superb quality and flawless texture. "

"Below you will find hundreds of human meat recipes that have been submitted by our satisfied customers "

"Human flesh does not keep its high quality long in the freezer because changes in flavor and texture occur. "

"For juicy manburgers, remember these easy pointers. Avoid overmixing ground human meat because excessive handling can make it tough. "

"We will not process any human meat from a carcass that has any communicable disease, damaged meat, or decay. "

"If you have been convicted of illegal cannibalism (The killing and eating of a human) we will be unable to provide any services to you. We support the consumption of human flesh, but under no circumstances do we support the killing of a human to provide meat. All meat sold on ManBeef.com was obtained legally. To find out more about how we obtain our meat, go to our processing page. "

"Because humans are not kept in controlled environments, their health and diet can not be maintained for the purpose of slaughter. "

"As the body is separated into individual cuts of meat, we carefully examine every cut. If one cut is determined undesirable (meat is too stringy or the meat quality does not meet our standards) no cut of meat will be used from that body. "

"We recycle."

Are you creeped out yet? To get the full effect, follow this link to the "processing" page. Most of the photos do not appear to be archived, but my favorite one is still there. It may take several minutes to load, so you may want to put the browser in the background and come back to it later. Do wait for the pictures to load!

Cannibalism, the eating of human body parts, has been around for a long time, in a lot of places:.

At an increasing number of archeological sites in several parts of the world, butcher marks are being found on human remains..

After battle, the Spartans licked blood from their swords..

In an undetermined number of tribal cultures, winners ate losers after battles..

In New Guinea, the meat of white people was called "long pig."

The Aztecs used cannibalism in human-sacrifice rituals..

Human body parts played a significant role in European medicine 400 years ago.

As the Aztec example indicates, the majority of cannibal stories grew from the upsurge of European global exploration. As Europeans looked for new lands to conquer and "civilize," they brought back tales of "savages," "cannibals" and similar do-no-goods.

By the 19th century, the archetypal image of cannibalism was missionaries boiling in a giant stewpot.

Dinner for the tribe may be the stereotype. But the actual extent of cannibalism is hotly debated by archeologists and ethnologists (students of human social behavior). Rather than simple savagery, they have suggested that cannibalism can be:

A search for protein: In areas with scanty diets, human flesh was the ultimate Big Snack.

A search for nutrition. When you (like the Donner party in the Sierra Nevada in 1846-7) are stranded, you may decide to eat the dead rather than join them.

Transforming energy. The cannibal gathers the life force of the deceased by eating him.

Aggression. Once you eat your enemy, you both know it: He's dead

We'd have to use the recipe I posted in OC for Javelina...

(TMR sees very little difference between Collared Peccary--and Fat Socialist Weasel!)

and any HC'ers either of Filipino extraction, or with some WESTPAC time under their belts, be sure to bring the "Mang Tomas" sauce. (The cranberry juice marinade may not be enough to make 400# of Fat Socialist Weasel edible.) So we'll need a LOT! :D

Reuters

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - A Mexican man killed his lover in a drunken, drugged fight then cooked the man's body in tomato and onion sauce and ate it over three days.

Police found Gumaro de Dios Arias grilling rotting human flesh for his breakfast, including part of a heart, when they raided a shack he lived in near the Caribbean beach resort of Playa del Carmen, a police chief said on Wednesday.

"He was preparing stews. There was a grill where he was cooking part of the heart and bits he had cut off the body. It was terrible, terrible," said local police chief Martin Estrada, who was among a dozen police who raided the shack.

Arias told police the victim, a young man, arrived at his cardboard hut in a wasteland area with a mutual friend who then left the two of them drinking and taking drugs.

The pair had sex and afterward a fight broke out during which he killed the man with blows to the head, police said.

Police arrested Arias, 25, on Tuesday after a tip off.

"They said there was a person eating a person," Estrada said.

"We found him lying on a folding bed and to one side was the corpse which had been torn apart and which it seems he had been eating for three days," he told Reuters.

The corpse, which had its back ripped open and its innards pulled out, was missing various parts, like a thigh, he said.

Silly Mexican, he should know better...queers taste better when sautéed in either a Chipotle or Adobo Sauce.

"He was preparing stews. There was a grill where he was cooking part of the heart and bits he had cut off the body. It was terrible, terrible,"

Of course it was "terrible, terrible" one should never grill such a delicate cut!

The pair had sex and afterward a fight broke out during which he killed the man with blows to the head, police said.

Apparently his mother never told him not to have sex with his food!

Actually, ManBeef is best prepared like pork.

Seeing this thread reminds me of the Monty Python "Spam" or "Manbeef" ;) skit.

Scene: A cafe. One table is occupied by a group of Vikings wearing horned helmets. Whenever the word "Manbeef" is repeated, they begin singing and/or chanting. A man and his wife enter.

Man: Well, what've you got?

Waitress: Well, there's egg and bacon; egg sausage and bacon; egg and Manbeef; egg bacon and Manbeef; egg bacon sausage and Manbeef; Manbeef bacon sausage and Manbeef; Manbeef egg Manbeef Manbeef bacon and Manbeef; Manbeef sausage Manbeef Manbeef bacon Manbeef tomato and Manbeef;

Vikings: (singing/chanting) Manbeef! Lovely Manbeef! Lovely Manbeef!

Waitress: ...or Lobster Thermidor a Crevette with a mornay sauce served in a Provencale manner with shallots and aubergines garnished with truffle pate, brandy and with a fried egg on top and Manbeef.

Wife: Could you do the egg bacon spam and sausage without the Manbeef then?

Waitress: Urgghh!

I mentioned this thread in the Beyond 500 yards forum and told Billy D that I would resurrect it for him. Glad to see that you guys are keeping it alive and kicking. Somehow, I doubt that he is going to sit down and read all 30 pages of it. Heck, I have only read a page or two, if that.

Just got back from vacation and ManBeef is "again" up and running. Thanks Fabs! I think ManBeef has been going on for at least two years or so. Just typing this makes me hungry.
Hey Skinny, maybe you could post a pic of Rocky and I downing a couple of ManBeef beers (ManBeers, a franchise of ManBeef).:p :p

HI FABS

I ADMIRE A PERSON WHO IS TRUE TO HIS WORD. THANK YOU: I THINK. I READ THE FIRT PAGE AND TRIED TO HIT THE WEB SITE. IT HAS EXPIRED. AS SHOULD THIS THREAD. IN MY INNOCENSE AND INQUISITIVENESS I WONDERED WHAT IT WAS ABOUT.

I'VE NEVER BEEN THIS BRIGHTEST BULB IN THE PACK, BUT AFTER READING A COUPLE OF PAGES IT DIDN'T TAKE LONG TO FIGURE IT OUT.

UNFORTUNATELY IT WAS RIGHT BEFORE DINNER. I SUDDENLY REALIZED I WASN'T REAL HUNGRY ANYWAY. GEEE, I JUST ATE YESTERDAY.

AS MUCH AS I APPRECIATE? YOUR EFFORT, YOU CAN PUT THAT THREAD BACK TO BED.

BY THE WAY, I GOT QUITE A LAUGH OUT OF SOME OF THE REPLIES.

THANKS? AGAIN.

Billy,

You asked, I delivered. See, not all attorneys are liars. Well, not complete liars anyway. LOL

I never said this was one of the best threads on here, just said that the thread in Beyond 500 Yards might be able to stay around and get as long as this one. As you can see, there is a lot of posting on this thread and there are probably posts on this thread from people that no longer frequent the board. This is just a great thread as far as length, number of posts, and number of posters is concerned. Now, if we were to rate it based on original content, well you get my drift.

This is my forum so, I have to read the posts.

I read the last few posts in this thread every 20 pages or so.

Hey muledeer, whattaya mean manbeer? That was eleventeen trips to Reno ago! It's been ManGin the last few times!

Of course, when you and I have dinner with the County Coroner, I suppose this IS a suspicious thread, huh? No wonder you ordered chicken wings last Saturday...can't disguise 'em!

Good to see you, Ward! Hey, great job reviving "the thread!" Do I sense a new thread coming on....perhaps the "HUFU" thread? :D

Ward, are you anywhere near Glenwood Springs? I'm going to up there hunting the 3rd Rifle Season (Nov 5), and was curious if you were in that part of CO or somewhere else.

Take care!

FromBearCreek

I'm in Aurora, east of Denver, so I'm quite a ways from there. I've hunted a lot in the are south of Eagle and over towards Glenwood. There are always lots of elk in the area - you should have a great hunt.

muledeer
08-19-2005, 05:03 PM
I'd be carefull now that TD knows what town you live in, especially if you're in the phone book. TreeDoc hunts more than elk. I'd hate to think what Doc will do if his elk hunt is unsuccessful:eek:
BTW thanks for bringing up the ManBeef thread again. We must never forget:D

All part of my plan, Muledeer. I'm setting a Treedoc trap. I'm reliably informed that prices on Treedoc hides are higher than they've been in years, so I'm planning on cashing in.
