Its been awhile since someone resurected this thread (I think one part of PAR is gonna zing me for it) and thought I'd make a post so we know to let this thing fade into the archives.
Since its been slow talking about politics and immigration ;) maybe we should revisit the issue of deleting this thread altogether.
Never mind, that may cause a general uprising in the HuntChat Army.
Anyone have a nice fondue recipe?

Tater,
Thought I would be looking for a Bear recipe after the first half on Monday night because it looked like they were toast. Some how, they managed to pull it out. We will have to see what happens over the next 10 games, but if Grossman gives up 6 turnovers to any other team in the NFL, I seriously doubt the Bears defense will be able to keep them in the game, much less win it for them.
Tater
10-18-2006, 11:52 PM
I'll give you that much Fabs; six turnovers is way too many. Any team but Arizona would have walked all over them. I think Grossman was just having an off day, or maybe they got complacent playing one of the worst teams in the NFL. I'm sure Coach Smith put the fear of God in them and it won't happen again. Maybe we could have a Cardinals as a side dish:D

I cannot believe that it resurfaced. Glad to see you posting. Heck, I'm glad to see me posting.
Trying to get psyched for the upcoming season, but with the new to us house that needs a new furnace/AC (putting in a wood burning furnace), the 1998 Taurus that needs a new AC clutch, the other work around the house, stuff still in boxes, the kids, and the fact that they planted soybean at the farm I hunt 5 miles down the road, I just haven't been able to get too thrilled about the upcoming season. Haven't even shot since November/December. Maybe I will get more into it as it gets cooler.
I was so psyched to be moving within 5 miles of a farm I hunt, and then my dreams got crushed by the soybeans. Kind of weird too since it has been soybeans for 5 years, corn last year, and back to beans this year.

Hey Fabs...after soy beans they quite often plant winter wheat..mmmmmm-mmmmm good for geese
That is what I am hoping, but winter wheat never seems to be quite as good as corn on this field. It is in Howard County which is part of the migratory zone, so only 2 birds a day unless that has been changed. I am going to hunt it regardless since it is only 5 miles down the road.
skeet
07-11-2011, 01:11 AM
When I was guiding we shot bean fields quite often...but mostly in bad weather. Just seemed to produce better on those days. Winter wheat was a close 2nd for geese on the shore but many farmers planted it for the double crop option even in corn fields. Beans are at a high price now(so is corn) so I think you will see more beans next year..especially if the farmers do futures on the beans. The place we have left on the shore is one we do futures on every year..figuring on a 40% crop basis..If they are growing good and the crop looks good we always sell a few more..up to an 80% basis..and take out chances on the left over.. Friend did a barley crop this year(high prices too) and did beans after 'em..edible soy beans though(really high prices...Japanese)

OK Fellas, the reason I called this meeting..........well, simple...we are hungry. And its almost BBQ Season again!!! So lets all share your favorite MANBeef recipes!!!
For myself, I found a nice bacon rub, with brown sugar, rub, and let sit for at least 5 days, then smoke for about 2 hours at 140F, finish at 200F until internal temperature reaches 160F. For smoke wood I like hickory, alder, or applewood. Slice and serve fresh, or slice and freeze. Then thaw and serve, or fry in a pan and serve with eggs and toast!!! YUM!!

Say, when was the last time anyone saw Rocky or Doc? And who has most recently fired up their BBQ?

Take lots of hot sauce. All these "gluten-free" types are pretty tasteless.

Dan,
Happy belated Birthday wishes. In the 1960s, I used to meet my Lakewood, Colorado girlfriend at her place of work at 10,140 West Colfax on Friday afternoon. We would drive off in her 1959 Edsel convertible with a case of COORS and drive into the mountains.
I appreciate your like for Heineken, but REALLY, are you sure Coors wont do? Just sayin....askin?.....

Dan,
I DEFER to you Judgement; I left Colorado in 1966 and perhaps much has changed since then. We have NO Coors in PA, to the best of my knowledge. No Edsels either, as far as I can see. LOL.

Captain,
I saw in the news awhile back that there have been several instances were shoes have wash up on several coastal beaches with the feet still in them. I believe I told you that you could keep the shoes but ditch the feet. You're starting to attract attention!!!

Hi Skinny....I use Kraft Italian on Chikin...But chickin is usually a bit more tender than manbeef...or so I have been told by those in the know

No marinade. Cut one inch thick steaks. Salt and pepper heavily. Grill at 400, four minutes total. Flip each minute to get the good grill marks. Let sit for two minutes, and down the hatch.
Good grill marks bud.
