55gr Red Prairie (now made by Wildcat Bullets) VARGET and my 22-250 opens up a can of red mist over a 220 Swift any day... ;) :D |
Hello,
I'll also echo the 55 Nos B/T on top of H380 or Varget praises for my 22-250 Savage 112. Peace, Tal~ |
Don't seel short the Sierra 52gr. HPBT. Sierra doesn't market it as a hunting bullet, but it's dynamite on woodchuck and other small game. I've been using them for years and amquite happy with the performance. Best wishes.

I have had great luck with sierra 55 gr. spitzer and h 380 at 3443 fps, mild but deadly accurate At 1/4 in X 1/2 " groups are very consist ,I some times I may drop to a 52 gr sierra to pick up some additional velocity but the h 380 is my go to load in my Sako 22-250 varminter. Also 4064 gives good results at 3400 fps as well about 1/2 in X 1/2 ' groups, hope this leads you in the right direction By the way I use only CCI bench rest primers in these loads.

The Sierra 52gr. HPBT is also a terrific varmint bullet on woodchuck. Actually Sierra doesn't consider this as a hunting bullet, but it's an excellent chuck killer as well as being super accurate. Just one mans opinion. Best wishes.
