I have seen many an animal taken with everything from a 22 revolver to a 1911a1 45acp. Personally I like my 6" gp100 in 357mag with 158 grain semijacketed soft points, or my blackhawk 5.5" 45lc with 250 grain RNFP lead.

My main 4 hunting handguns are a RIA Frame with a Ciener Platinum 22 rf. conversion for squirrels. For larger game I have 3 Ruger SAs I use: 32 H&R Mag. varmits, 357 mag and 44 mag for the rest.
