Yea this is Tanner (posted a picture of him a year or so back) Looks like all those table scraps and old roy haven't done him no harm. He hunts when I have to work. When I go to hunt he stays on the front porch and barks to warn the deer I am commin.

:D

Thanks Curt

I can't believe how much he has changed from that picture. He has a lot more chocolate brown now and less gray. He still has the perfect ticking though. Also his mouth whiskers are more prominent and the hair above his eyes sticks straight up. His hair in general is getting more wiry.

I love his coat, the thistles just can't seem to get a good foothold in his fur, I can wipe them off with a towel. Ticks don't seem to penetrate well either. I spray him with Off before we go out.

Like I always say, "I wouldn't take 100 times what I paid for him."

Thanks, Bill

My Chessie in Arkansas. His name is Diesel.

Nulle 12-12-2007 05:43 AM

Great Picture and nice looking dog.

Gunslingergirl 12-13-2007 08:02 AM

Nulle,

That "bonding time" picture is so cute. My Dad's dog does that too.

Tennessee Elkman,

I love that picture. Diesel is a beautiful dog.

Gunslingergirl 12-14-2007 07:37 AM

I love the progression in those pictures.

Autumn looks all alert and proud, Justice looks more laid back and Reno is getting some well deserved rest.

Great pictures.

Great pic VaRed. Somehow, I think I've seen it before. Maybe in the "Thankful" thread of yours.

Thanks....dunno if I shoulda posted it again though...at least without identifying the only four legged hunter of the bunch...the other two being chow hounds.

Heh.

Did you have a GWP at one time?

Wolfwoman 03-03-2009 11:46 PM

Here's a few of the family...lol

All the small pics are pups of the dog that is in the background.
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...ollageFlat.jpg

Then we have Isis & Norman. Isis is just a year old and Norman is a retired Iditarod dog.

fabsroman 03-05-2009 03:44 PM

Nice pics. Norman looks like a brute, which I guess is required to run the Iditarod.

Wolfwoman 03-05-2009 03:52 PM

Norman is actually large for an Iditarod dog, he's probably 75lbs and smaller than most of my other dogs. He has a big head and big feet and the big heart to go along with it...lol

Nanook... about 120lbs of hug....lol

fabsroman 03-05-2009 11:55 PM

My yellow lab is 105 pounds. Nanook doesn't look so friendly with that large of a bone. It looks like he just ran down and killed a moose and is finishing up his meal. LOL

Wolfwoman 03-06-2009 12:16 AM

That might have been a moose bone, they get those :) However, I am able to reach down and take fresh bones (or anything else) away from all my dogs, they've been taught who's bigger and meaner... LOL Even tho he could crush my arm with no troubles, he never would. He's a big sweetie. My lab is 85 or so, but she is 1/2 husky and the mom of all these pups. I had two yellows before, both have passed on of old age.

Here is a pic of my 9 year old female chessie, Delta. She has had two cuciate repair surgeries (one on each knee), so she is kinda semi retired....even though she has a fit when I try and hunt the other dog without her!

http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b6...avacation3.jpg

These are photos of Bear; he is a 5 year old chessie that is a semi rescue. He was lanquishing in a kennel when I got him; previous owner got him as a pup, sent him to a trainer where they did some basic work with him. The owner wasn't pleased with his progress, so left him there. I took him and we've been working on getting him into hunting. I think the lightbulb finally went on this past fall....too bad we got froze out early.

See if I can get this thing to work? This is our new Service dog and so far the only thing he tracks is his food dish lol

icequeen 02-22-2010 08:48 AM

Hope you don't mind if I add my wingnuts to the fray. :)

This is mom (Catria) an undersized Irish Wolfhound, 7yrs old now. She's trained to track wounded bear.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...s/IMG_2456.jpg

And this is the kid (Chevy), Catria's largest pup who is half wolf and stands 33in at the withers. He's 4yrs, a big goof and just scares the crap outa the bears, and everybody/thing that comes around. lol

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...s/IMG_2460.jpg

They both run an average of 8miles/day and in the summer we add 2 daily swims.

rainydays 02-22-2010 12:00 PM
