Need help identifying strange substance!
1 Attachment(s)
I had this strange substance on my porch last night, and AGAIN this morning. It concerns me as I have rarely seen anything that looks like this.

Well Heck
It looks a little like that white stuff that falls over on the mountain in front of the house. We don't see too much down where I live either. Gettin ccccoooolllldddd tonight. Going down to the -10 temps this evening and this weekend. We're even supposed to have a bit of that stuff. If it gonna be that cold I'm gonna whittle me a stock for my 03 Springfield this weekend. I have a pretty piece of wood....Or should I do a bunch of reloading??:D

GOB, you have my sympathy. This substance, while it has some limited benefits for hunting, or sledding with the kids, is otherwise most offensive, inconvenient, and just plain cold. I would try to avoid it if at all possible.

Well luckily Santa's toxic containment crews seem to clean it up pretty fast around here. It was gone by 10am this mornin. Its 43F now at the house and supposed to be in the 60s tomorrow.

I have a 9 foot deep pile of that stuff in my back yard right now if you want more. I was gone for a week and came home to a foot and a half in the drive with deeper drifts in places. I called my plow jockey and told him to take a look as he might need something bigger than his 250 ford. He came back with his payloader and 10 foot snow basket. The pile has my four month old lab perplexed as it is in front of her normal spot to go potty. Pup jumped up along side of the pile and completely disappeared in the 3 foot drift. Took her a while to get back out. It will be spring till this pile is gone unless we get a big January thaw. |

I'll trade your 60 for my -10!! :D :D

Was that a typo? I don't understand what that - is doing in front of the number. . . . . :D

YOU WANT TO SELL IT?
|
Snowed another 5 or 6 inches today. At least it was the nice lite fluffy stuff for a change. Susposed to rain on Sunday. Don't need that.
maineguy. I agree with the insulating effect of the snow. I blow it up against the foundation when I can. It even seems warmer outside with a good snow covering on the ground. |
Maybe one of those Mexican drug planes dusted your area with some of their product.
Then the locals just snifted it up before the afternoon came. |
its called here in NEPA
a mere dusting, now in Philadelphia and New York City , there would be traffic jams and accidents, people running to the supermarkets buying up , a cart full of milk , a cart full of eggs and acart full of bread , what for, i do not know, because most of the suburbanites eat out at olive garden or red lobster or old country buffet , crackerbarrel, or the local pizza parlor anyway , can't cook and couldn't boil water without instructions, my one sister-in-law fits that mold, so it has always intrigued me when i see this even in my area before a storm when it is forecasted , i just shake my head and tell some of them hey you forgot the darn toilet paper better fill another cart cause if you eat that much eggs and milk you will need it:D, along with room deodorizers

Apparently, someone left us some, too. It took a few minutes to remember what it's called.
