I'll pass.

No cup holders, no gun rack, no CB radio.

BILLY D. 01-14-2006 04:31 PM

10-4 to that rocky.

fabsroman 01-14-2006 04:54 PM

All I get when I hit that link is that I have used an unauthorized link. However, I know what the Bugatti is and it is an awesome car. I believe that every man should have at least 3 vehicles. A sedan, a truck, and a sports car. Right now, I have a Taurus, a Mustang, and a F-350. Now, I am just looking to upgrade the Taurus in a couple years to the Fusion/Five Hundred. Upgrading the Mustang to a Ferrari will have to wait a little longer. The Bugatti might be out of reach entirely.

Of course, the cupholders are in the sedan and the truck and the gun rack is in the truck.

DogYeller 01-14-2006 05:11 PM

As long as we're dreaming about'em, I'll take this one.

No thanx on teh Bugatti....Fugly looking things....

However I would like one of these :

Saleen S7

Made in America.

And faster than the McLaren F1.

HOOOAH!!

Yeah, the Saleen S7 is smoking. If I couldn't get a Ferrari, my next picks would be the Ford GT40 or the Saleen S7. For some reason, I think the Saleen S7 costs more than the GT40 or the Ferrari 430. If I could have any car I wanted, I would take the Enzo Ferrari.

Here is the Enzo.

Next on the list, the Ferrari 430

fabsroman 01-14-2006 10:33 PM

And last but not least, the GT40. Then there is the Mustang Cobra that is coming out next year, and that is even somewhat affordable, but nowhere as much of a head turner as the others.

Neat looking cars but

If I bought any one of them it would have to be made in America.

Can you believe the pictures of the police in the pics that TBO posted. Them darn Europeans still have to have their cops look like the SS or something. Happening here in the US in a lot of places too

Rocky Raab 01-15-2006 09:32 AM

Just the insurance premiums for that series of whizzmobiles would run a smaller country...

I agree with Rocky, who wants to drive a moving speedbump.

however i think i have found a suitable replacement, ya'll feast your eyes on this baby!

:D

fabsroman 01-15-2006 12:30 PM

This thread is great.

Skeet,

If I am not mistaken, those police dressed up like SS are actually the Italian Carbinieri. Kind of like the equivalent to the State Trooper over here.

gumpokc 01-15-2006 01:25 PM

Hehe Fabs had to throw that in there :D

If i had to pick a top three "whizzmobiles" then i'd have to say in this order...

#1 an original Shelby ford cobra

#1 original GTO Judge

#3 GT40

and I believe your right about the Italian police pictured below.

Blktail 01-15-2006 08:14 PM

My buddy's dad has a great big diesel pusher motorhome. He pulls a trailer with a Harley in the front and a Navigator in the back. I would trade the Harley for a quad and the Navigator for a Chev 4x4. A guy could live with that.
Imagine travelling from hunting season to season to shoot to shoot.

fabsroman 01-15-2006 09:10 PM

Yeah, that would mean I hit the lottery.

Steverino 01-16-2006 12:31 PM

Although I rarely play the lottery, when I do go in with a group from work on tickets, I like to fantasize about doing the above-taking a couple of years to travel around the country in an RV and hit all of the different hunting seasons in different states. I s'pose that after a couple of years though, one would become rather homesick.

Ahhhhhh, it's nice to dream, ain't it? Heck, it's worth it for a couple of bucks every now and again just for the dreams.

Nice cars and great pics folks!

Steverino 01-16-2006 12:35 PM

Actually, I did get a good chuckle seeing the ads for discount car insurance (I believe Geico) atop these gorgeous luxury automobiles.:D

Well, I used to spend a lot of time about ten feet off the ground in one of these...

TreeDoc 01-24-2006 03:36 PM

I'd take that O-2 over any of those Hot Rods, Rocky!!!

I know we've discussed this sometime long ago but I am absolutely infatuated with the Cessna 336/337 and always have been since I saw my first one when I was probably 7 or 8 years old. In my aviation travels I have come across a few just beautifully restored birds and have a plan to own one someday. I just gotta get myself to a point where I'm chasing ducks less and flying more!

fabsroman 01-24-2006 03:49 PM

Why chase the ducks less. Just use the plane to go where the ducks are. You can kill two ducks with one stone. LOL

All kidding aside, having a plane makes it a lot easier to travel where the ducks are. Granted, flying isn't necessarily cheap, but if you are going to fly, why not fly and hunt too.

TreeDoc 01-24-2006 11:36 PM

I would agree, Fabs...up to a point. I have considered driving one of my small trucks and finding a spot at the airport to leave it so I have transportation to my club once I get there. There is one important limiting factor....at least to my personal limitations when flying and that's the weather. When the weather is excellent for duck hunting it's almost always very bad for General Aviation aircraft.

I was up at my club over the Christmas - New Years week and my buddy was going to fly up to hunt with me for a day or two but we had severe thunderstorms, tornado warnings (imagine that in Californee!) and sustained winds at 45 knots with gusts to 60! That was on and off all week long so there were only a few very limited windows to get in and out. That kind of stuff really leads to "get there-itis" which lures pilots into making marginal decisions and possibly trouble. In my case it would be a go, no-go decision and that just leaves me with very little drive time to make it after all. Sometimes it's just safer and even faster to drive!

C2K,
My Endodontist, the rat that gave me my last root canal, has 2 Pilatus 12's! He and his son who is also an Endodontist bought the first one and formed a mini airline to service a direct route between San Luis Obispo and Sacramento, CA because the majors abandoned that route and to get there you had to fly south to L.A. or Pheonix and then up to Sac. It took about 4-5 hours to get there which is exactly how long it takes to drive! I'm not sure if they are still running it however. It was called MarcAir. He tells me stories of how he and his son buzz up to Alaska for one day Halibut trips and come back!

captain2k_ca 01-25-2006 04:56 PM

HEH!! Sweet. The PC-12 is certifired for single pilot IFR :)

Lots of Gee Whiz gadgets and doodads!

I'd love to get my paws on one :)

A guy I know (I just found out today) just bought a 2005 Piper Saratoga. 180 knot cruise :D:D

I would love one hehehe

One of my instructors flew Skymonsters up North doing fire patrols :) he had his first real engine failure, and first enroute fire in it :D:D

swampdogg 01-30-2006 06:51 PM

Ask any aviator if they agree :D:D
