wanting to buy a better bow
I have been bow hunting fer about 4 yrs. I have been useing a PSE Nova that I bought from a buddy of mine. I am thinking about buying the PSE Baby G. I was just wandering if anyone owns or has shot the Baby G, and if it a good bow. I would also be glad to hear any suggestions on equal or better bows fer around the same money. I am planning on spending between $300 and $500. Thanks ahead of time fer any comments.

Two others I don't see on your list is Hoyt and Bowtech.
From your list, I'd say Mathews. Parker makes a nice bow, too. If you like PSE, then get one of those. btw- I haven't heard many good things about PSE lately. Appearently, the limbs have been cracking. |
had a bear way back in the day. good bow
about a year ago i got a used mathews from a buddy and i will never go back!!! JMO SS |
For the choices that you have there, I would say that mathews is a good choice except that they cost at least $600 minimum. My second choice would be with PSE, even though I have never owned one. If I was to add names to this list, I would definately add Hoyt. They make a variety of good bows and there should be one that fits in your price range. Good luck!

I own a Mathws and love it. But when I was looking i heard good things about Alpine archery. You may want to look into one of those also.

I have been real happy with my Parker, but, the mathews would be my other choice. Good luck.

I own a Mathews SQ2. I sell Bears and Parkers along w/ others on the weekends at a sporting goods stores. I love my Mathews, however if your thinking about a new bow I'd take a good hard look at the Parkers. They've got one of the best warranties in the business if you ever have a problem, and they have a great variety of bows to choose from. One thing you didn't mention is whether your price includes new accessories as well as a new bow. This'll play a big part in your final price. Anyways, whenever I have someone who wants to buy a bow I sell it to them from the grip on out. A bow that feels comfortable in the hands will be alot easier to shoot in the long run irregardless of how fast or anything else it is. Dont get hung up on speed. It's not everything. Vibration, noise, and weight are the more important aspects IMO. All of the bows made today are plenty fast to kill a deer.

Interesting
Just this weekend I went to a local pro shop and shot 4 different bows. The 4 I shot were the 4 that felt the best in my hand while holding and drawing. I shot the new Matthews Switchback and while there was no recoil, it was like pulling a cement block off a table. Personally didn't like it one bit. I shot an AR34 and liked it alot but eventually settled on one of the 2 Hoyt's that I was shooting. I shot both their std cam & 1/2 and the turbotec with the spiral cam 1/2. Both of these bows were faster, quieter and had the same or less recoil than the Matthews or the AR. In the end I picked the VTEC because it felt the best to me.
My only point is...don't worry about what everyone says or is shooting. You'll shoot the best with the bow that feels the best to you. |
I have the the Mathews Mustang, as I'm a tiny person with a very short draw, and I wouldn't give it up for anything!
