sorry Virginiashadow for the delayed responce. i dont get to the computer very often. so the story goes..............
I was actually out hunting deer (extra doe season here in oklahoma) with my trusty .223 and decided to take my bow along just in case a gobbler came in range. Sure enough they did (just as they had every day during the regular rifle season). I had placed my self behind a very large oak tree. It was EXTREMELY foggy that morning and decided not to chance the climb up the tree stand. As they quickly approached I simply drew (hidden by the large tree) and waited a brief moment for they first gobbler to come forth. There was approx. 65-80 birds in the group so luckely the third bird was male. It was a near perfect shot (if i must say so myself). no meat loss and more importantly, no fly off with my arrow!! am looking forward to spring for another try. good day ChiroCowboy |
