Self-defense.

Good luck, good timing and some guts saved a lot of grief and a lot of money.

ATLANTA, Georgia (AP) -- \When two men walked into a popular country store outside Atlanta, announced a holdup and fired a shot, owners Bobby and Gloria Doster never hesitated. The pair pulled out their own pistols and opened fire.

You know after writing that I got to thinking it is a damn shame that two older folks like the store owners have to now live with the fact that they took a human life.

I still say chalk one up for the good guys but I hope the couple that own the store are able to cope with what happened ok. I am sure it is a mind battle they will have for more than a few year.

Killing

DMM, You are right. It will be a horrible experience to know you have killed someone....but sometimes things like this have to happen to let the crooks know that people are responsible and armed. Quite often the crooks take what they came for and then take the life of the store or business owners too. Maybe armed is the best way to be. I really don't know.

I do know that when I was selling guns I was always armed...and still am usually but I really don't like to be. Hell of a thing to have to go armed at your own place..

Hard to live with,..yes,..BUT

Yes it would be difficult living with the fact that you took a human life.
BUT, when you know that the maggot whose life you took made an attempt to take YOUR life or the life of someone you love, it should be a lot easier to handle, especially when you know that they will no longer be a menace to society.
(Not to mention the fact that your tax dollars won't be spent providing an existence and legal defense to someone who wouldn't give you anything and was willing to take EVERYTHING you had.)

self defense

It goes without saying no loving human being wants to take anothers life...but we arent always confronted by other loving beings...and are forced to confront and react to life as we are dealt...I have spoken to people who were involved in death...it is universally agreed defending ones self ....is mind altering...but not always for the worse...
