$3,000,000 Olds Prototype
 
Watching the bidding on the 1955 prototype Olds was an experiance. All I saw was the tail lights at first and I thought it was just another early corvette. It might have given the vette a run for its money if it had gone into production

The buyer raised his own bid to end the bidding. Seems like it was about a $200,000 raise. It is going to an auto museum somme where in Colorado

I have seen this auction in previous years. It is wild what people will pay for an automobile.

Oh My GOsh thats why I posted this...isnt it great....I sure would like to know the investors in that museum...excellant idea....and the whole world can enjoy them....the kid said he was going after the rarest of the rarest....they are headed for that museum....so cool.....figure it...5-10 bucks a head.....oh yea you'll make your money back and tax deferr it to boot....genius...

Don't mind seeing it on the ol t.v. BUt I can't stand the traffic I have to deal with:mad: There are way to many extra people driving around Scottsdale anyway.

That was fun to watch. That guy was buying that car, and that was that. I started laughing when he got in it to bid. :D

I think I heard them talking that it was the cars designer, Harley Earl, grandson that was bidding against him.....

They also said something about there being two more of them out there. I bet whoever has them are grinning right now.
