 Favorite magazines

Over the years many magazines have covered military surplus arms in one way or another. Some like "The American Rifleman" have written about classic arms with a high level of competence and accuracy. I have been impressed with "Gun Magazine" and the last few issues were spectacular. They covered Russian military arms of WWI in more detail than I have ever seen. The May 2005 issue has an interesting article about shooting cast bullets in Krags, Springfield and Enfields and other surplus arms. Finally, my mentor had a letter about surplus arms published on P. 35. What magazines do you good folks like? All the best...

Small Arms Review. I just subscribed after a friend gave me a couple. They cover historic arms in extreme detail with many detail pics and serious engineering study. Definately the best from a technical content standpoint but they only cover military weapons.

I like Varmint Hunter very much, also Precision Shooter for accuracy information. Most of the remainder I don't even bother with. I'm thoroughly sick of Guns of the 19th. Century British Empire. Favorite handgun of some obscure Kansas frontier sheriff, aligator guns for the Okefenokee Swamp. Give us a break for heavens sake. Don't these writers ever pen anything that's relavent to todays firearm user? I think not. Best wishes.
