Saying goodbye to Dad

My dad died on the tenth of a sudden chest infection. Been a bit of a zombie for a while.

Over the last few years he's been my hunting partner. Even though he wasn't able to walk around that much, he enjoyed coming along and waiting in the truck while I did some walking.

It was quite sudden and unexpected. He had just turned 65 and was making retirement plans for a lot of outdoor stuff....

Sorry I haven't been around lately.

Im sorry to hear that. You have my sympathies. Its a shame when someone goes unexpected and younger than expected. Really dont know what to say. Hang in there.

Ive been kinda worried myself. My parents are right around 60 and my grandparents in their 80s. Im not ready for it either. Dont think anyone is.

It's never easy, try to think of this, you had a lifetime of sharing. Remember the good times together each time you were out. This
may sound tough but keep eyes on the crest of the hill.
My prayers are with you.
Dan

You have my condolences. There's no way to prepare yourself for something like that, and it's rough to go through. The things we can carry with us are the memories of good times in the outdoors. May these fond memnories stay with you during this time.

The death of our parents is something we all have to go through. It's never easy.

I'm sure that you had the time to say all the right things to him while on those hunts.

If you didn't, say them to your kids. Or they may not say them to you.

Sorry to hear of your loss, Sound as if you lost not only your Dad and Father but a hunting buddie all in one.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. I hope the memories you hold of your Dad are all the fond ones that will make you smile again and again.

Darkwolf, My deepest condolences. Its not easy to get over such a loss as it leaves a big hole in your heart but cling to the good memories and they will help you.

I feel your sadness, my condolences! I lost my mother 11 years ago. My father is 94 and not doing real well. He taught me how to hunt and fish. This is really a tough time for you and like rubicon said "cling to the memories".

Sorry to hear the news and you were very lucky for the many years you shared the outdoors. That was not an option for me so you were very blessed indeed.
