Google Maps.

Hi All,
Just thought I would let you all know that google has a new mapping system, It starts out as a "map" but, in the top right of the page you can click on Satellite in the "brown" strip & get an aireal view. If you start to zoom in you'll notice dark/brown areas, there you can max zoom (top of the zoom scale +.) In the colored/green areas it will only let you zoom to about 3-4 clicks from max zoom. You will also find at the bottom right of the page a link to Keyhole.com Google's 3D Earth.

Anyway, I thought it was kind of cool, I just wish you could zoom in on areas in the country (hunting spots) like you can in the cities!?
Enjoy, Phil B.

Val, Yahoo maps will do that address thing to give you driving directions.
It's on the main page of Yahoo.

I've been playing with google and I just tried terraserver. The terraserver photos appear to be B&W whereas the google images are color.

Google's resolution varies from area to area, but is generally 1 or 2 feet for urban areas. Can't remember the resolution for rural areas, but I am able to see pipelines, creeks, and roads in the area I hunt (Polk county, TX). I found my house in Google. I think the resolution is 2 feet. I can easily make out the sidewalk in the front yard, but not the swingset in the back. As usual, my neighbor's car is parked in front of my house.
