30 Govt Headstamp
 

Was cleaning out my Mother In Laws attic. Found a 06 round, FMJ, Military the had the headstamp "Den" 43. Is or was there a aresnal in Denver? It was manufactured in 1943.

Yes, the Denver Ordnance Plant made ammunition during WWII. The headstamp is "DEN" and the last two digits of the year of manufacture. Ammo was made during WWII only at Denver and all was corrosive.

Denver plant was operated by Remington. Area is now Denver Federal Center, houses a myrade of federal offices.
There were a number of other ammo plants producing ammo in WW2.
