Crossbow
 

"Football shoulder" prevents pulling a bow enough to get proficient. Been hunting deer with handguns but that limits hunting to when the red hoard is afield. Could hunt before and after with archery equipment.
Thinkin' crossbow. Any tips on what I should consider including make and model?

You'll probably get some varied responses on this one, as each person has their personal favorite. If you'd like a compact X-bow, and one that's not too heavy, buy a Horton (I own a Legend II and love it). If you're not worried about a larger X-bow, an Excalibur is a decent choice. You really can't go wrong with either one of those.
