What kind of hunting stabilizer should I use?
Right now on my Browning Rage I'm using a cheap camo wal-mart special 8$ stabilizer. I was wanting to by a fairly good one for a reasonable price. Thanks for the help guys!!!

You should be able to get a new 7" Doinker hunter for about $40 to $45. Used for $30-$35.
I would recommend Doinker or Shrewd. |
Whichever you choose, remember that the biggest reason for a stabilzer is weight distribution, not noise reduction.
A lot of stabilizers focus attention to vibration and noise, which they may do well. But, it is more important to put the weight out in front of the bow. A three inch stabilizer with a bunch of rubber stuff on it will not be as big a benefit as a 12 inch stabilizer that puts most of the weight at the end. |
feathermax is correct, you will never see anyone shooting competion using a short stabalizer, I have a 10" hydralic w/ a wieght hanging on the end of that, you should hold your bow strait out with one hand and then relax your grip( use a wrist strap) the bow should not fall back towards you it should go slightly forward. And the same should happen when shooting.
Hope that helps, Eric |
