weaver grandslam focus problems A friend of mine has a 3-10x40 weaver grandslam which he is really pleased with but for the fact that he adjusts the focus to just right and after a couple of weeks of use he finds that the focus has shifted. It drive him crazy but the problen is there is no way I can find a lock ring to stop the focus from shifting while we are using it onthe hill. Does anyone have the answer to this one? Hamish |

The answer is Leupold. Over the years I had about every kind of scope on the market, I`ve hed trouble with every brand but Leupold. I`ve got around 30 of them and 3 more ordered. Bought my first in 1969and it went through a car wreck and looks like heck with the damage done to it, but it still works like a new one. ;) |

Well, not trying to be facetious, but a slight application of duct tape might be a cheap solution to keeping the focus ring from moving. |

Maybe a touch of locktight on the ring to see if it is moving. I doubt that is the cause. Check to see it is keep at a steady temp after adjusting and I bet it shifts with tempature without the locking ring moving. |
