anyone ever shoot hollow point 7.762 x 25 ammo in their

CZ-52?

Just bought about 300 rounds and wanted to know how it shot for anyone else. I will prolly find out for myself Monday or Tues of next week but can't go shoot until then.

I bought the hollow point stuff to keep as self defense load.

I figure even though it is only a .30 cal bullet. An 85 grain hollow point busting out at over 1600fps is going to do some serious damage to whatever it hits

I have mostly military 7.62X25mm ammo and have not seen any hollow point rounds. Let us know how they work out. All the best...

Gil only one company that I know of FNM makes the hollow points
I was goign to go to the range tonight but I am betting that it'll prolly be closed because of the snow.

I will give a report on how they feed and as to their accuracy compared to the FMJ rounds as soon as I get to shoot some

While down at my grandfathers in SC I had a chance to shoot some real strange ammo for my CZ-52.
The ammo I bought at a flea-market was loaded with 46grain 22cal HP's in remington style sabot's.
I was able to hit 20-ounce plastic soda bottles at 20-yards on a pretty regular basis once I got the ammo sighted in.
I traded gopher-traps(2-milk crates full)for 200rounds of 7.62x25 ammo,which I thought was hardball but was 100rounds of handloads which were loaded with a 46grain HP/sabot over 6.0grains of AA#5 in Starline brass,he loaded it for a TT-33 Tokarev which my uncle bought,and 100rounds of 100grain "Plinker"bullets over 5.5grains of AA#5.
I saw more CZ-52's and Tokarev's in 7.62x25 down that way than I ever saw up here in Minnesota.
CZ-52's for $85.00 and TT-33's for $199.00 was the going rate.
Makes a great beat-around handgun that is a blast at the range!

Don't know how i missed this posting, but ...

FNM does indeed load a hp 7.62x25 round.

I have run about 400-500 thorugh my cz-52 in the last 5 months.

accuracy and reliability are onpar with S&B fmj's from what i have seen.

I can't get 7.62x25 ammo down here, I converted my TT33 and Ppsh41 to 9x19. The TT33 barrel I bought from Numrich, it fitted straight in (tight) and functions perfectly but the point of impact is much higher than the sights. Not really a problem, it ain't no match pistol anyway and at least now I can enjoy shooting it. For the Ppsh41 I bought a chambered 9mm blank for about $60 and had a local machinist profile it to match the original which was really easy to remove. The ROF has slowed down and the drum mag functions perfectly, it has never jammed.

I know the combat advantages to 7.62x25 with regard to penetration (buildings, doors, winter clothing, vehicles) and trajectory/range but in my case I just wanna blast away as cheaply as possible. The only thing cheaper than bulk 9x19 is .22LR.

Very nice pictures!

Especially the Ppsh41. That looks like a real business machine. All the best...

I also forgot to mention there is a place on the net called reedsammo.com

he makes/supplies 7.62x25 in various loadings.

well I finally got to try out some of the surplus ammo and the Hollow Point stff I bought. all worked well. fed well and was quite reliable and accurate.

I have about 1,500 rounds of FMJ and about 300 of the HP stuff so I should be set for quite awhile.

Just FYI the hollow point ammo in FNM and like I said it fed well and was accurate out of my CZ-52.
