Elk Kills Ranchhand Supprise twist this morning, SE of Craig, Colorado, a 57 year old ranchhand was fataly gored by a 7X7 bull elk. This occurred on a elk ranch that the person had been told to stay away from the bull,This was his second day on job. I'll have more a little later. I don't care if they are kinda domesticated, they are decendents of the wild! Dan link: www.9news.com |

OK, as of today, other ranch hands found the victom in the pen with the elk, elk had blood on horns. Sheriffs office stated that elk appeared to be in a second rut! Also stated that he had been " tossed around quite a boit" As of now, disposition of the elk is uncertain. Dan |

I don't lknow how to post links, sorry. However, there was a link on another site, Ruger forum, where the Denver Post stated that the ranch hand died of a heart attack, not a goring as was first suspected. Paul B. |

I saw on the news this morning that the hand died of heart problems. Good news for the elk ... results unchanged for the ranch hand. |
