Savage or Marlin ?
Dose anyone know which rifle is the better one,the Savage 93R17GV or the Marlin 917V. I would appritiate any feedback
the pro's and the con's. ;) Thanks. |
They should both be good quality firearms.
The best hintg i could recommened since i have no personal knowledge of either, is to find a gunshop or someplace that has both and try each one out for size and feel. then choose which _you_ prefer. |
Since I posted this post, looking into other forums I've read about savage having problems ejecting live rounds.;)

It's Marlin
I was going to buy a friends savage R17GV but since I only heard of savage having any problems. So instead I ordered the marlin
917V. Thanks for the help.;) |

Funny I've never heard of that, in anything other than inidvigual rifles, usually because of lousy cleaning. If you would, please link some of the articles you mentioned. |
I can't remember what forum I was on, Ive been on so many different forums lately. I feel too,it was an isolated case
it was most likely do to poor cleaning. Both rifles are probably good rifles and I'm sure either would be a good choise.;) Ken. |
Marlin
I have the 917V...a tack driver!
This is the gun I personally would say to look at first. |
yeh, thats the one I bought the 917V.I like It a lot.Put a tasco
2.5-10X40,it seems to like the hornady over all others I've tried. Ken ;) |
I bought the Savage back when the 17HMR first came out. Mine is a tack driver. Sub 1/2 MOA @ 100 yds with no wind.
