roundball,

Thanks for your post. I have read some material about Toby Bridges's views on muzzleloading hunting. It seems he minimized the Traditional Arms and got deleted from sponsorship of various companies.

Meanwhile, I have been hunting with my faithful .50 caliber T/C caplock, 80 grains of Pyrodex RS and a patched .50 roundball. I had a good walkabout and the few deers are ok hereat, and still on the hoof.

As far as i can remember, which ain't toooo far, i have only read a few of his articles and didn't see anything THAT wrong with his writings.

But I am a rookie in the muzzleloading game so to speak. I have a 50cal CVA caplock and shoot Clear shot, 777 or pyrodex and Saboted Slugs mainly. I'm a lazy SOB and I'm not reaaaaaal fond of cleaning firearms.

When I load up I just use the subsciption/prescription thats on the powder bottle. This year I am going to shoot more roundballs and patches though. Theres just something neat about pouring in powder and seating a roundball that trips my trigger. It seems like an air of superiority, almost snobbish.
