Lilred's rant of the week.....older women
 

ya know Lilred is gittin older when....

1. she drives less than 75 mph on a daily basis
2. she stopped smoking
3. she drinks wayyyy to much coffee
4. she caint cuss as fast as she used to

and number 5...the worst of the worst....

last week i special ordered some stuff for 2 college kids. they came in on saturday mornin to pick it up. they aint remember my name so the told the girl at the front counter "the older red-headed woman in the back ordered it fer me"

i came round the corner like white on rice...the kid ran out in the parkin lot..i musta scarit him bad....

so...it's official..bye bye 25 yrs old...bye bye daisy dukes...fast cars....i reckon i now need ta git my hair cut short too...ahhhhh them was the good old days.

Now that i'm officially an older woman...i think i'll settle down into an older woman routine.....

Just looked at your profile.

From my point of view these are the rantings of a mere adolescent.

During a prolonged session in the dressing room of our Old Timer hockey team we were lamenting a pathetic loss to some younger players. One of our guys testified to his advancing age by saying, "There was a time when I believed there was no such thing as a good looking 50 year old woman. Now they're everywhere!"

There's still hope. You'll just have to wait until you're old enough.

I can relate. People now regularly call me ma'am and I'm not even forty yet.

I'm with you though. Age is just a state of mind. A lot of people have told me I don't look my age, and I can't believe all of them are just being nice. :)

As for spunk, I have a grandmother and great aunts that are in their 90s and they're still spunky. It all has to do with your attitude. If you think you're old, you're old.

Getting old? Still beats the alternative. I like to wake to the green side of the grass. I awoke the other day and didn't see the green side. It snowed. I thought maybe heck froze over and I got on the wrong elevator.. the one that went down instead of up. Look at the senior discounts ya can get and don't forget how hard ya worked to get to be that .....ah.....old?... I just got home a few days ago after heart attack #6. Guess one of the 3 bypasses got plugged..I spent a good day hunting last Saturday, got back to the truck and only got about a 1/10 mile down the road when it hit me and hit me hard. Whew, did make it out of the woods..they didn't have to wait for the crows to find me and I didn't have to hide the backside tight in a rock to keep the possums away...I managed to drive the 4 miles home but didn't make it into the house...instead, I hit the door and the wife came out..the rest is history after the 911 call...So yea, I want to be an old man so I can chase those wild women with the red hair around till they turn gray...and can get away with it....dirty old man...lmao...

I'm glad to hear everything turned out ok. That's scary.

You're right, growing older is better than the alternative. I lost my Mom when she was quite young (56) and I always remember how hard she fought to make it another year. So, I might complain a little on occasion, but I'm really grateful for every year that I get.

Also, the women on both sides of my family (Mom excepted) live forever. I have a grandmother who is 95, great aunts in the upper 90s and a great grandmother who lived to be 99. Given my genetic background, I'm not even in middle age at 37.

Just wait until they offer you a senior citizen discount and you are only 46.

Well a lot of us do but some are bothered by peer pressure and won't admit it. It's a guy thing. It looks cool to chase some 20 something when you're 60+. Not.

My wife of 15 years is pregnant with our first child. We are going to be new parents at 38!!
